338. Primetime (2026) We knew that Pattinson was going to deliver a stellar performance, but what really surprised me was the engaging work of both Merritt Wever and Skylar Gisondo. I can't praise highly enough how monsters are humanized and humans are shown for the monsters they really are.

Yesterday I watched for movies. Can't remember the last time I did that in a single day. The best was Death Race 2000 (1975), the worst was Rollerball (1975), but only because of the pacing.

337. Rollerball (1975) Another 1975 film with an ax to grind about social decline, though the pacing is really rough. A tight 90 would have been great.

336. Death Race 2000 (1975) - Rewatch We used to have so much great social commentary hidden in cheap entertainment. Death Race 2000 says a lot about society in between it's cheap kills and full frontal female nudity.

Love this Wile E. Coyote assed bullshit.

335. The Dangers in My Heart - Complete Manga It's finally over. One of the best and most touching romance manga of this era. I'm sad to see it end, but I'm happy it ends the way it does. The story lives on in Kana's spin-off. Kyo, Anna, and their dumbshit friends, will all be missed.

334. Shanghai Knights (2003) - Rewatch I've always preferred Knights to Noon. I know that's not the common opinion, but it is just more fun.

333. Shanghai Noon (2000) - Rewatch It's no Rush Hour (1998), but the mismatched buddy concept maps well to the old west. Owen Wilson is a little too "Owen Wilson", but otherwise the performances are fine.

331. Barbarian (2022) I'm not much into horror these days, but this was good. I cated more for the creepy vibes of the first half than the overt commentary of the second, but it was a very solid, thematically appropriate film.

Watching Barbarian (2022) for the first time and boy is Justin Long great at playing a scumbag.

I kind of love everything about this concept.

329. Akira (1988) - Rewatch I don't like this film. I can appreciate the art and craft, but the pacing and 2nd half bore me to tears every single time. Even watching it in a theatre didn't help. Like 2001: A Space Odyssey, this is a popular film i just do not get.

328. The 100 Girlfriends Who Really, Really, Really, Really, Really Love You - Season 3 Peak begets more peak. The balance of characters remains impressive despite 17 girlfriends now being in play. They went places this season and it was great.

As the parent of a nonverbal child who is learning to communicate via an AAC app, this episode of 100 GFs is painful to watch. Shizuka's mother's fears are understandable, but her reponse and actions are reprehensible cruelty.

327. The Emperor's New Groove (2000) - Rewatch A weird in-between movie for Disney. By all rights it shpuld have been a disaster, but instead it's perfect controlled chaos. Fantastic performances across the board. Possibly Patrick Warburton finest work.
