The key idea in that article is T saying: whoever wins AI wins’. This is exactly the point of the race to AGI. Whoever creates it first will basically control all skills and *everything on earth. The winners will be a handful of people, and the rest of the planet will be at their mercy.

On the other hand, Winton, the inventor of AI, Nobel in physics for his work in AI and Turning award recipient has been warning about this for the last 3 years.

Digital superintelligence cannot be controlled or contained by humans. a 20 year prison term for AGI is not a deterrence, because at that point nothing will be controlled by humans anyway. The race for AGI has the ultimate prize: ownership of all skills on earth... or that's what AI companies think.
