Happy #PortfolioDay to those who celebtate 🥂 I'm Dan and I draw cosmic and/or strange scenes with pens on paper. Just out here doing my own thing and sharing what happens. #DarkArt

Pen drawing of a humanoid being sitting down cross legged in front of a circular void being orbited by debris and strange twisting shapes. The head of the being is a large bird skull with geometric sigils carved into it with a circular halo rising up from behind the head with spikes pointing outward along the top half with crimson symbols embedded in it. The hair like structures flow down over its arms that feed into the machine-like stone constructs that have red streaked stained glass like windows that evoke blood and muscle with eyeball like protrusions. Rising up around the figure are slender stone columns with circles of crimson make patterns behind the being and the large angled beams that intersect behind it. Rising up in the foreground are two large memorial wall structures in obsidian with ghostly white symbols on them while two fae float near them, their night black bodies lined with glowing white tattoos.

Pen drawing set under a sky of electric blue and plasma pink and silver stars is a large wave like structure made up of cloud like swirls. The wave crests up to the top of the page and curls into a thick base that has a humanoid figure with an outstretched hand that seems to be guiding the curl that ends in a bird-of-prey like face with a hooked beak. Flowing across the body of the page is a swirling mass of these clouds in black and white that curl upward on the other side into sharply rising waves that are off in the distance with several smaller wavelets trying to fall back to the low point between the bigger wave with the figure and the steep wave on the other side.

Pen drawing centered on a face, eyes closed and face pointed down. The face is covered with tree light tattoos rising from the eyes with half-moon and circular symbols down the forehead. There is script flowing from below each eye and down the cheeks either side of black lips. A richly embossed collar is around their neck and the rest of their body is covered by metal discs and chains with various amulets covered in symbols or sculpted with eyes. Their hands are withered with the right one is tight to their chest while the other is raised and in a faint wispy white nimbus. Flanking this large figure are a set of smaller ones in high, richly embossed head-gear reading from large tomes that are on stands that appear to be made of a set of screaming faces. Rising up from behind the figures are columns with a stained glass appearing webbing between them while behind the main figure are a series of branching like structures.

Pen drawing of a large, multi-limbed female figure with the two of the larger limbs outstretched to the side and surrounded by globes of blue light while their main hands are positioned in front of them as if manipulating something invisible to the viewer. Sigils flow down their chest from their neck while their face is just an oval shaped void in their head while the hair is black like space and decorated with white gems to resemble stars. Their other arms diminish in side with the smallest of the four pairs only having two fingers and a thumb. They are standing over an eye like structure with a rippling, black fluid surface and white light shining out of an opening resembling an iris. Around them are metallic symbols made up lines of various thicknesses and circles while there are rips in the world with black void. Behind the figure is an electric blue sky that appears to be dripping while the surrounding walls are richly textured with more of the symbols like on the spheres, lit from within with a pale glow.

Wild bettas live in shallow marshes and rice paddies. Males fiercely defend their space, flaring their fins and gills to warn off rivals. As an archetype, the betta represents endurance in hostile environments and strength in solitude. #Art #DigitalArt #InkWash #SpiritAnimal #Spirituality

A digital ink-wash illustration of a crowntail betta fish painted in dark grey and black ink on textured cream paper. The fish is captured mid-turn, with its body curved sharply and head facing downward. Its fins and tail flare outward into long, tapered black rays resembling a delicate ribcage or flowing calligraphy strokes. The tail fins have soft, feathered wash textures, with a subtle white highlight defining the curve of its spine. In the lower right corner sits a red rectangular seal with the name NISKALA.

"Intention", 2026 Someone told me once that the world moves with our intention. So I made my wishes, never knowing how much they would cost. #Poem #Poetry #Art #InkWash #WritingCommunity

A poem on a cream textured paper with lotus ink-wash drawing on the bottom right side of it, made by Niskala.exe

The Poem: Intention

Someone told me once
that the world moves with our intention.
So I made my wishes,
never knowing how much they would cost.

I asked for independence,
and I learned it only comes from being completely alone,
standing in a quiet room with no one left to turn to.

I asked for the courage not to depend on anyone,
and my rose-tinted glasses broke into a million pieces.
forcing my eyes open to see the world as it really was.

I asked for patience,
and life taught me through grief and heartbreak.
I asked to be strong, to enjoy my own company,
and the universe took my friends away.
It even took my cats.

So if the world is truly listening to my intention,
if it moves with the words I speak,
then I am changing what I ask for now.

I wish for a safe and warm home.
I wish for kindness, and gentle hands.
I wish for a full stomach.
I wish for a full heart.

Artists are allowed to make fucked up upsetting art. You are allowed to block them if it bothers or triggers you. You are not allowed to demand that transgressive art never exist. Especially when the artists are marginalized or queer and already have society trying to erase them.
