#ScribesAndMakers <22 Our next featured creator enjoys making maps. Have you ever made a map? Well, sort of I embroidered an artistic representation of the route from Mono Lake back to my house. Info in the alt text.
An embroidered map on fabric that is mostly yellow with triangles of different colors. In the bottom right corner is Mono Lake and they’re sort of an as shaped curve for the road. There’s a steaming coffee cup, where we stopped for coffee; a picnic bench with trees where we stopped to have lunch; and then there’s a very simple house to represent home. In the bottom left is a compass star.

The swan is done with gray and black stitches, yellow feet, yellow accents on the wing and face, a red eye and yellow beak. There is green back stitch outlining the tail of the sea wolf, and the “scales” are filled in at the center of the tail in three alternating colors. The tail is filled with sarma/satin stitch in green. The torso of the sea wolf is finished in one shade of green. There is yellow outlining around the swan and blue outlining around part of the sea wolf. End description.A black bag opened to show the inside of the flap. It is lying on a wooden table.

The book “Recipes for an Unexpected Afterlife” on a wooden table and a cup of tea nearby. The cover has drawings of a non-human baker with dark grey skin holding up scenes from a town including a bakery, trees, and maybe a castle. The scenes from the town are piled on his back. At his feet is a shadow. Part of the shadow has wings.

#ScribesAndMakers 29. What is your proudest or best moment with your creative endeavor this month? I finished the embroidery I've been working on since July! I'm now working on making it into a bag. I'm super happy with the embroidery. It has been a learning experience and (mostly) a joy to make.
