Twilight Princess famously got an 8.8 from Gamespot, and the backlash was big enough that "8.8" became a fan term for a while, and it has its own tvtropes page tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwik...

I forgot to post about it this year when it happened, but Summer Games Done Quick wrapped up a few days ago, and I attended in person for the second time! I'd highly recommend the runs of Super Mario Odyssey, AEW Fight Forever, and especially the Super Metroid Race.

Pretty sure that's the bottom of a wine glass, not a quarter. I'd guess it's to hold the napkin down, but idk

I'm talking with someone who was looking for a room, so I don't think that will be necessary, but if it doesn't work out and I'm back to looking for a roommate, I'll let you know. Thanks!

Did you manage to find a roommate? If not, I've got a room and am looking to split costs

I know it's pretty late to be asking this, but if anyone's looking for a roommate at SGDQ, hit me up. I'm got a room already from July 7th to July 13th, and am looking to split costs

Ah okay, that makes sense! It's been many years since I played Super, so I had forgotten how saving works. Thanks for answering!

If you were to save, would your file be completely softlocked?

AGDQ ended about a week ago, and I never posted my thoughts so here you go: It was very good! In particular, I'd recommend Zelda: The Wind Waker, Shadow Generations, New Super Mario Bros. Wii, Rocket League, GTA: Vice City, Crazy Taxi, Zelda: Ocarina of Time, and ESPECIALLY Super Metroid.

Nintendo basically just said "Fine. Here's the console. You guys sucked out any of the hype it would have through all the leaks, so here, have the most straightforward, matter-of-fact trailer we can make. No teasing, no build-up, just the thing itself. You're fucking welcome."

I forgot to post it yesterday when it started, but Awesome Games Done Quick 2025 is going on right now! Yesterday's runs were great, and I'm especially looking forward to the Ocarina of Time randomizer run on the final day. GamesDoneQuick.com

I really hope this place can be what Twitter used to. A fun, active place to keep tabs on people you want to follow. Less algorithmic bullshit, no swarms of bots, no far-right extremists. Time will tell, but I'm hopeful!
