I should be surprised by this, but that would mean being surprised that the company that locked characters in SF6 behind a $180CAD paywall. Made fast travel in DD2 a microtransaction, and makes you pay for character recustomization in every modern MH. CAPCOM has BEEN scummy for years now.

What's really making me upset about this is the cult of oneyplays fans who are tying themselves in knots to try and disprove this. They claim its a "nothingburger" but then need to examine shoes in the backround and a mole on the victim's neck to claim its all fake and probably AI. It's just sad.

Professor Layton ended for me when Akira Tago passed. I knew the series would never be the same without him, and I was mostly right. Level-5 shoveling GenAI into not just Layton but ALL their games flies in the face of Tago's legacy and the artistry that used to define these games. It's a tragedy.

I reviewed Splatoon Raiders! Its genuinely a lot of fun. Its the freedom of loadout choice I've wanted in Splatoon for a while! Alongside cohesive level design and more interesting storytelling. It's not perfect, but if they carry like 80% of these ideas into Splatoon 4, I'll be a happy boy.
