My 2026 gaming goals are super close to being achieved! About 40 more achievements and 4 more games published in 2026 left to go. I wonder if Spooktober will be as strong as September?

Let them be your inspiration to keep going! They look great!

Finished the basic assembly of the 12 Terran Marines from the Starcraft Founders starter set. None of the accessories spoke to me except the combat shields. I may add some before painting.

Jacked up and good to go. My first Terran Marine is assembled! Let's go!

Assembled Terran Marine miniature from Starcraft Tabletop Miniatures Game by Archon Studio and Blizzard Entertainment.

A day of walking ahead of me, but first coffee with cayanne, whipped espresso honey, and a splash of cream.

I thought since I was caught up on Magic inventory I could get back to Warhammer. Then Archon Studio kicked in my door and shouted "Think again!" I don't know how they timed it, but I'm impressed. Time to dive into the Starcraft tabletop game!

I'm finally "caught up" on my loose Magic the Gathering cards. Everything is digitally organized and most are in binders. I went hard on Final Fantasy, and I had loose cards from that set and several after it. I can now rest easy until the Star Trek set in November.

When I come across this photo, the mini doesn't make me smile but remembering how people have reacted to it makes me smile. They're astounded at this metal cape because it looks great to them. To me, I know I barely spent time on it. That fuels me to keep painting.

Software engineering needs more whimsy like this. A little pet in my UI. Yes, I need to clean my monitor. No, it doesn't bother me (yet).

Needed a brief break from miniatures and switched over to inventorying my backlog of magic cards. Organizing and sleeving cards is incredibly relaxing.

This weekend I was able to squeeze in my first game of #Warhammer #TheOldWorld. It was only 750 points, but still plenty fun. Had a couple of transportation casualties, but nothing some glue & magnets won't fix. To celebrate my match loss, here's the full army (so far).

Rockets and cannon balls at the ready! A pair of war machines built and ready to field. Unpainted, but more playable: 892 / 2000.

May slipped away from me in multiple ways. Sorry for the achievement update being a week late! Surprisingly, May was low on the achievement count. Filling the Mystery Mayhem Machine with older games also tanked my new game percentage. Whoops.

The army continues to grow! A peasant levy has joined the ranks. My unpainted #GrandCathay force has also broken 500 points! 562/2000! Arguably, it is playable. #Warhammer #TheOldWorld

I was hopeful I could get through two ranks today. Unfortunately for my hopes and dreams, I forgot I had to attend a graduation party. Whoops. But some progress is still progress! Unpainted army total is up to 269/2000 points.

Fifteen unpainted Jade Warriors from Games Workshop's Warhammer: The Old World lined up in rank and file with each rank being five models across.

Dropped the ball on achievement updates! Sorry! April finished a little under target, but I'm still riding the overachievement in January & March. Overall, I'm nearly halfway to my goal and ahead of schedule. Pretty darn happy with that.

The next rank is done! As expected, these five went a lot faster. This block of 20 will be ready to go in no time at all! Constructed, but unpainted, army total is up to 229/2000. #Warhammer #GrandCathay

This is a very similar direction that I am taking my tomb king army! I was thinking of going a darker blue (sapphire-ish) instead of sun-bleached blue like yours. But now I'm needing to rethink my plan because your models look fantastic.

Not too bad! GW did a good job hiding many of the mould lines, so cleaning is a breeze. Some of the 90° bent arms have a connection point to the sprue near the elbow, so getting that cleaned up was sometimes a pain. I think the worst gluing issue was the straps for the musician's drum.

The first rank of Jade Warriors is built! Things should be quicker now that I have a feel for the model configurations. 189 / 2000 points. #Warhammer #GrandCathay

Two Jade Warriors assembled. With the two gate keepers (the one on foot being a Battle Standard Bearer), this brings my total points to 159/2000. #Warhammer #GrandCathay

I've been having an itch to get back to Warhammer, and the start of a new month seemed like a great time to start a new army! So this month I will be building (and maybe painting?) a Grand Cathay army to play with (and probably paint) in June!

The photo is of three boxes containing pieces to build plastic miniature models for Games Workshop's Warhammer The Old World. The boxes are arranged with the official art facing the viewer. One box is on the left and is for the Sky Lantern. Two boxes are stacked on the right. The top box is for two Gate Masters of the Celestial Cities. The bottom box is twenty Jade Warriors.

I am overjoyed that the Artemis II crew made it safely back to earth and were successfully recovered. The past 10 days of space-related media consumption has been inspirational and eye-opening. Thank you NASA, CSA, and ESA.

There's something special about NASA's Artemis II mission coverage that has me transfixed. I've been listening in during my downtime since launch. Everything the space crew & ground crew are doing is incredible.

With March closing out, time for a quick 2026 Q1 update! Overall, I'm extremely pleased with the progress. My metrics are almost good enough where I won't feel guilty for playing an older game soon. :D 37% to overall achievements and 2 games away from 50% new games played!

Never would have thought that a millennial couple would get so frustrated by having to use an ordering kiosk at a fast-food restaurant that they would walk away mid-order.

The first week of March wasn't as fruitful as the first day of March, but I'm definitely appreciating the pace. 28% of the way to total achievement count and 46% of games played released in 2026.
