The Covid wave in England continues to grow very fast. As of 27 September, 1 in every 234 people were infected, up 31% on the previous week. We are now recommending that Covid-Cautious people take full precautions, including a PPE mask, in ALL indoor places. A thread 🧵

My wife has a food business. I'm eating some scraps right now. She has had her most successful fortnight ever. She doesn't get sick pay, and would have to let important clients down if she got sick. So it's fortunate that my children wear masks in school.

Thank you. Yes, I am, however the lack of algorithm here means it's not really worth cross posting big threads. I've only had 1 post perform well on BlueSky in 2026, and there's no education community to speak of. Meanwhile, X has stabilised somewhat.

People don't ask "Isn't WW2 over?" That's not how people talk. They don't make it a question. People know it's over. People do ask "Isn't the pandemic over?" And "Do people still get COVID?" And "Isn't it just a cold now?" And "Did I get COVID from you?" Or they are silent.

1. My mother passed away three years ago today. She died in the early hours of the morning in the nursing home she had lived in from late 2019. The nursing home was, at that point, in a Covid-19 outbreak, the eleventh outbreak in the facility since the pandemic began.

Once upon a time you could smoke pretty much everywhere, and pretty much everywhere smelled of smoke. Anyone trying to fix the problem would have felt very disheartened. Progress would have felt achingly slow. But that problem was fixed. It happened. Things change. #NoFilter

I'm a content creator, for a fairly specific small audience. Just want to ask for advice from fellow content creators. What do you do when your children are spending lots of time on the computer, playing online games with their friends? I can't get on the PC to do editing rn. (yes, they do too)
