The thing that bothers me most is I can't really say much about the characters. They are ok but they lack proper characterization and don't feel fleshed out or like real characters. SO4 had that issue too but the PAs in that game helped....here they sometimes feel half baked and unfinished.

So far I like SO5 but I do get why the game isn't considered all that good tbh. A lot of things do bug me about it and it's jarring to play at times but it's not really a bad game, at least so far.

I started up Star Ocean 5 after beating 4 and so far I like the game. I think the combat system is good and the game mechanics are fine, but I do think the rock paper scissor mechanic is misleading af. Enemies never get interrupted when using weak attacks against strong and the block may as well-
