There's a graphic novel from an Italian tech guy about a kid raised on a "tech farm", whose house cat turns into an evil AI oracle after an accident. An EVIL. AI. CAT. And the scary part isn't even the AI ! It's that this cat actually LISTENS to somebody!!! #indieComics

My 3 basic checks before backing a comic: Verify the creative team portfolios. Check the campaign's location and account transparency. Look for genuine production evidence: sketches, pencils, inks, lettering and WIP material Crowdfunding runs on trust and That trust deserves transparency. (6/7) 6/7

I originally intended to back Venom Vixens. After doing this investigation, I decided not to. And that's why I wrote the full breakdown. Not to tell people what they should or shouldn't back, but to show why due diligence matters when you're putting money into an unfinished comic. (5/7) 5/7

Then there's the artwork. The campaign states that AI was used only for marketing and promotional purposes but the comic artwork was created by human artists. But after examining pages closely, It made me question that claim. I can say it raised enough red flags for me to walk away. (4/7) 4/7

The campaign presents one US location, Texas then business information points somewhere else. The phone number points to Virginia And platform transparency information for the social accounts points toward India. being based in India isn't the problem. The problem is transparency. (3/7) 3/7

I couldn't easily verify some of the credited artists through portfolios or previous work. Then I started looking at the company's online presence and the information surrounding its stated location. What I found raised questions that I couldn't simply ignore. (2/7) 2/7

I was ready to back Venom Vixens. The concept immediately grabbed me: supernatural Western, female outlaws, cursed wine and beast-human transformations. Then I did what I always recommend before backing a crowdfunding comic: investigate the creative team. And things got complicated. 🧵👇 (1/7) 1/7
