🤔 E-commerce visibility redefined? On May 15, @OpenAI quietly added @Shopify to ChatGPT’s search, no announcement, just a doc update. 🛍️ Now Shopify stores show up with rich results: images, prices, reviews. 💡Non-Shopify merchants can apply (just don’t block OAI-SearchBot).

.Any() vs .Count() > 0? in C# by @groogs.bsky.social stackoverflow.com/a/63569609/2...
.NET Framework
With ICollection:

.Count > 0 is best
.Count() > 0 is fine, but ultimately just calls ICollection.Count
.Any() is going to be slower, as it enumerates a single item
With non-ICollection (no .Count property)

.Any() is best, as it only enumerates a single item
.Count() > 0 is bad as it causes complete enumeration
.NET Core
.Count > 0 is best, if available (ICollection)
.Any() is fine, and will either do ICollection.Count > 0 or enumerate a single item
.Count() > 0 is bad as it causes complete enumeration

In the 20 years from 2000 to 2020, Amazon's Capex spending totalled $70B
In the last 4 years alone, Amazon has spent nearly 4x as much.

Enjoying the arc browser way. Productivity boost. It's a change with no bookmarks but replaced with auto-recycled tabs, pinned tabs, and favorites tabs. A nice mix of those with Profiles, Spaces, and Preview links are boosting my browsing experience.
Just a thing in Arc that generates a card by user.

Inside Bluesky’s Engineering Culture newsletter.pragmaticengineer.com/p/bluesky-en...
Unusual origins. It’s rare for publicly traded companies to fund startups which may become rivals – but it happened with Bluesky.

Team. A high ratio of former founders amongst the engineering team (70-80!%) , and the near-absence of Big Tech experience.

Tech stack. TypeScript, Go, ScyllaDB, SQLite, React+Expo.

Company culture. Full-remote with a time zone overlap, “extremely online.”

How the team operates. 2-3 person teams with a DRI, work buddies for everyone, and lots of longform writing.

Engineering culture. Integration tests over unit tests, roll-back / roll-forward, & the benefits of not having large-scale organizational expertise.

Open source and community. Treat contributors well, invest in developer platforms and documentation, and celebrate/promote third-party contributions.
