I wanna hit the riverglades

I did the same thing. I think I'm gonna be on and off with Forever in general. Each time I've started a character on a classic era server, I get to like level 40, say to myself "alright I get it" and put it down for months.

Must not have been very good at it if they didn't see that coming.

The funniest instance of this, and what really drove it home was Blasted Lands in the WoD pre-event. Okril’lon Hold was seized by the Iron Horde but quickly cleared out. No damage to the buildings. Nethergarde Keep, meanwhile, was FUCKING OBLITERATED lmao

I think the point is Tess, while the leader of Gilneas and therefore the Worgen, is human. So while their leader is there, she isn’t one herself, which looks weird.

As much as I'm enjoying Forever's Beta, exploring the world, and spending time with my perfect beautiful boy Tatertots, I think I might need to take my foot off the gas in terms of playing it. It's just beta, I don't want to burn myself out.

It's definitely possible war still breaks out, but without Garrosh's pressure, a slower involvement of the Alliance (I still think they'd eventually join- or at least have some sort of correspondence with the Kaldorei) AND a closer watch on plague production, I think it plays out quite differently.

140

Stromgarde Enjoyer @nilocor.bsky.social · 05/10/2026

And it would have all sorts of cascading consequences. Would he still order an attack on Gilneas? Probably not, I imagine. The Night Elves likely still reach out and Gilneas likely still joins the Alliance, but that happens more slowly AND Liam is still alive. How does that change things?

Stromgarde Enjoyer @nilocor.bsky.social · 05/10/2026

Would have been interesting to see how he handled the Forsaken if he still saw the Wrathgate first-hand. I imagine a much, *MUCH* harsher clamping down on plague production.

One of the bigger "what if" questions from WoW. Garrosh's failures are ultimately his own, but beyond that Dranosh would have had a much stronger support system if he had become Warchief. Varok would not have sunken into depression or stayed in Northrend. Better relationship with Vol'jin and Cairne.

Oh gameplay-wise Retail is in a great spot.

030

Stromgarde Enjoyer @nilocor.bsky.social · 05/10/2026

Combined with a relatively light showing at Blizzcon and all of the focus on Forever, Retail is in an awkward spot until a full TLT reveal.

I will continue to make sports analogies that very few of you understand.

Zul’Jan’s death was the equivalent of watching your favorite football team drop to 0-4 this week. An “Alright, this ain’t our year” moment. People aren’t gonna stop being fans forever over it (for the most part) but now you’re more looking towards next year and hoping the team gets it together.

You know, it's a little weird that in the Classic Human questline, finding out that Varian is missing and Anduin is standing in for him is treated as. like, kind of a shock in the quest text. ...But they mention that Anduin is king in the intro cutscene when you make a human lol

With this monopolized media empire comes not just size but unprecedented power. The power to throw workers under the bus. The power to price-gouge because consumers have few alternatives. The power to decide which stories get told, but more importantly, which stories DON'T get told.

Yeah idk what they thought that set would inspire. Like it’s FINE but it’s not a very exciting end-goal reward.

Jeez. Trading Post is kind of a dud this month, huh?

For anyone curious, Midnight Valley is a new Halloween series from Lego. It’s gonna be like their Winter Village line for Christmas, where they release one new set a year to build out into a whole display. Gonna make a tradition of building it each year!

If you lost it, Lego will probably just send you one! My Lion Knight’s Castle was missing a piece and they shipped me a replacement, no charge or anything.

This is definitely a "Grass is always greener" situation. But my hope is that newer Retail fans engaging with Forever and exploring the old world will *finally* have their eyes opened to the fact that the Alliance hasn't exactly been coddled in terms of losses.

I've talked about this before but yeah New Stromgarde's layout is largely a victim of Warfront gameplay

Put a little Stromgarde town there, call it "New Northfold", done and dusted.
