I have to imagine the reason it hasn't existed til now is because the specs required for rendering it in real time haven't really existed til within the last decade. Just attaching a solitary blur slider to the preexisting onion skin interface shown below would do it, I think

A diagram showing the various functions of the onion skin from Harmony Toon Boom, which is also found in various other animation programs in a similar way

Like damn, look at how easy this would be to work with!!

a quick sketch concept of the aforementioned blurred onion skin, multiple frames of a ball bounce animation are shown concurrently with the frames ahead in red and the frames behind in blue, the current frame in black. The frames on either side of the current frame are increasingly blurred as they get further from the current frame

This character was the one who resonated most with me. A life of pressure and judgment forming a chip on my shoulder aimed at all my flaws, one that gave powerful energy to push forward but without brakes to stop myself nor the ability to enjoy the ride These images sum it up well, I think

A digitally sketched out timeline of my artistic journey, 2009 is me as a kid excited about art, 2012 is me sitting down to study, 2015, 2016, and 2017 are me grumpy and standing over discarded art breaking a pencil

2020 is me crying with an explosion erupting out of my head, 2021 is me at therapy, and 2022-now is me as an excited kid again

After having seen some more varied screenshots I'm starting to think that your opinion on the new Star Fox design is going to largely hinge on which screenshot you saw first because he looks WILDLY different depending on the lighting and the pose. You can see what I mean just in this screenshot

screenshot of fox from the nintendo direct, in the bottom left he's lit darker and with a face pointed up that makes him look wide and thick.

In the top left you see an icon in darker lighting where his head is pointed more down, slimming him out, but the color is washed out

in the right side, in bright light and with the face pointing down he looks slimmer and more consistent with previous designs. Much of his detail feels more natural on him.

I've had the new Huion Kamvas 22 gen 3 for a couple days now, I'm really liking it! I opted for this one instead of the pro model cuz it was half the price (and I'm coming from a 2012 cintiq anyways so it's all butter to me) here's some thoughts and pros/cons:

read a creepy one recently! It's called Negative Space by B. R. Yeager. Gets REALLY esoteric, got a somewhat unconventional storytelling device (three different concurrent first person perspectives), and it is BLEAK. Some real heavy stakes plus the cover is really rad

Saw this in theatres last night and it was REALLY good, highly recommend. Great cinematography, the concept was engaging as hell, and I found myself in the shoes of the main character pretty much right from the get go. Wild to see how good a video game movie can get

like, GOD! So much personality in this alone! They're always shoving the shy one to the back of the frame unless they're specifically making fun of her. Each one otherwise has their own distinct walk and body language

Ever heard of Shomuni (Power Office Girls)? Whoever the DP was went CRAZY! All the shots are so intentional and clever, the character acting has masterful levels of dedication, it's like a live action cartoon. I wish I could find more screenshots than these, you really have to see it to get it

Jeff Vandermeer, at 46 years of age in 2014, casually mentioning non-binary people in his book Authority with total neutrality and no fanfare. If you don't know how to include representation in your works, this is easy mode With just a throwaway line I suddenly feel like a part of this world

A passage from Authority, the sequel to Annihilation, in which the narrator discusses the different variables included in each expedition. Namely the variables of only men in a team, and only women in a team. The narrator then questions why this would make a difference, then suggests the missing variable of "and what about someone who didn't identify as male or female?"

I watched Send Help directed by Sam Raimi last night and it was fantastic. Doesn't try to be anything more than it needs to be, it's just having fun with the story it is and that makes it LOADS better than most movies out these days definitely, DEFINITELY worth a watch!

my share of the aquarium studies, aaaaaaaa I wanna go back! Sharks are goofy as hell lmao, I couldn't get a single scary drawing out of them 🍓 #art #sketch #traditional

ink sketches of a couple seahorses wrapped around some seaweed, a clownfish hiding in an anemone, and two sketches of a very VERY goofy and boxy fish that looked like a horse's head and half of the neck cut off and turned into a unique organism. The name plate of that last one had fallen off so we don't know what it was

ink sketches of a Boseman's rainbow fish at multiple angles, multiple angles of a spotted jellyfish, and a single big sketch of a pig nosed turtle

ink sketches of various fish, some of which I named! Those names are blacktip reef shark, whitetail damselfish, and clown anemonefish

a more expansive ink sketch of a coral reef display, with various types of coral and fish darting in and out

Tinkering with a new character, she's the kind of gal that everybody knows but nobody really "knows," y'know? 🍓 #art #sketch
