nilbo.bsky.social @nilbo.bsky.social · 26/11/2024Came on and politely followed two people back. They both immediately DMd me, one claiming to be a facilitator for “Blusky rewards”, the other asking for my phone so “she” could text me. Jaysus. Well, I can say there are fewer Nazis. But scammers abound here just as they do there. 340
nilbo.bsky.social @nilbo.bsky.social · 24/11/2024Hey, if you’re a buxom 20 something wearing a bikini for “her” profile pic or your bio says “block chain expert” (because apparently “scammer” is too obvious) … don’t waste your time following me. I’m almost but not quite that stupid. 040
nilbo.bsky.social @nilbo.bsky.social · 24/11/2024Still trying to escape Twitter. It won’t deactivate my account. So I went over, tried again, got the oops message, and just clicked on my Home Screen for a glance. Still a Nazi hellscape, but today someone called the owner “Sissy SpaceX” and it was glorious. 140
nilbo.bsky.social @nilbo.bsky.social · 19/11/2024I keep trying to de-activate my Twitter and keep getting an “oops, something wrong, try later” message. This has been going on for a week. Thing is, while I’m there I can’t resist poking my head in to glance around and holy fuck it’s so harrowing. As more good people leave the Nazi soup thickens. 130
nilbo.bsky.social @nilbo.bsky.social · 17/11/2024I’m trying to maintain my faith this won’t turn into just another medium for hustlers to sell you bitcoin or nudies or some scam, but I’m regularly getting DMs from people I don’t know and I feel snake bitten, torn between politeness and “fuck off, scammer”? Am I alone being hesitant to engage? 260
nilbo.bsky.social @nilbo.bsky.social · 15/11/2024I hovered over the Bluesky icon on my tablet, seized by an unreasonable, inchoate dread. I had to remind myself “This is not Twitter. You won’t be immediately engulfed in hate messages from Nazis and white supremacists and billionaire narcissists”. I clicked on the icon and it was just lovely. 0140
