r3 vs 4cc, stuck w/ 2 firebend lessons in g1 (i think i should have been more aggressively using them to pump maestro but think i don't get there anyways), g2 i misplay on t4 and endstep consult instead of either mainphase or jam my two drops which gets my acomms stuck in hand w no land 5. 2-1 now

vs a slick/flock prowess list r2, g1 i'm stuck on 2 lands no U for a bit but i deal with 2 slickshots and they stall out with lands in hand for a few turns which gives me time to pressure w/ horse, then 2x horse 2x removal on a bounced flock kills from 10, g2 they have a 19 lands 4 sleight moment

2-0 airbending in r5 (3-2 now), opponent's draws were a little anemic and he forgot he was at 18 so blocked with 9 toughness instead of 11. Ended up not mattering since I had thunder magic in hand

Playing the fully boring deck, it's kind of nice and very fun. Lost r4 to great mu cub, flooded super hard g1 and got an icetill screamed so was unable to kill for several couple turns. Was funny that if I had played out my first harmonizer the one I drew off the top would have been mega lethal.

Despite the disclaimer that his tweets aren't rules documents, IIUC they get treated like official rulings by people, which is unfortunate because it's unreasonable to expect TOs and judge to keep an eye on rules managers' twitters for things that clarify or seem to contradict the CR.

Separately from the Tidebinder thing—I wish there was a more agile place to list rulings that should work one way but aren't supported in the CR yet. The Dunkatog tweet was 1.5yrs before the matching CR update, during which it would have been totally reasonable to rule the other, unintended way.

Dunkatog twitter post (link in alt)—Arena removes abilities, which he says should be the desired behavior. The 603.2e update (with TLA release) rolled it into 603.2d, and made it specifically about "triggers additional times" abilities. The old 603.2e (also in alt), defines

Judge blog post (link in alt)—this (posted after the gatherer ruling on Tidebinder) suggests the opposite, that countering a delayed/reflexive trigger _does not_ cause the creature to lose abilities, because it's a triggered ability of the ability, and not an ability of the creature itself.

Except from https://blogs.magicjudges.org/rulestips/2024/05/more-bindings-with-tidebinder/: If you counter the 2nd (reflexive trigger), then Inti’s third trigger (exile a card) will still have triggered from the first trigger (discard), and still be on the stack, and Inti won’t lose all abilities since reflexive triggers aren’t abilities the creature has.

Gatherer ruling—this suggests "ability of an [object]" === "ability whose source is an [object]". This is pretty straightforward and would make sense and is easily determinable via 603.7's definition of the source of a delayed/reflexive triggered ability (the object will lose abilities).

Tishana's Tidebinder's triggered ability checks to see if the source of the ability is an artifact, creature, or planeswalker as it resolves. If it isn't, it won't lose all abilities, even if it was an artifact, creature, or planeswalker when the ability was activated or when it triggered.
