Space can absolutely be made! A maker space here in the city stopped their mask requirement in 2023 for craft nights. After pushback, they agreed to have one night a month that was masks required. It’s since been expanded to two nights due to demand and has been well attended for a while!

I think one of the keys to having a mask mandate be effective is scope, time & making sure people have masks. So often that means providing them. I feel like people are more likely to agree if they know it’s limited and the reasons for doing so & if it’s made easier for them to do so.

Yep - that’s what I was asking. 🙂There are some facilities that have time bound requirements. So during certain months, they require masks. And then I’ve seen some have department specific ones. /1

For the avoidance of doubt - this is a good faith question. I’m genuinely interested in understanding what the barriers may be. Especially if it’s something that I wouldn’t have any way of being aware of as someone outside of the healthcare industry.

What about requiring masks in certain settings such as healthcare? What are your thoughts on that? Personally, the idea of having to go to the ER and then leaving with the flu or Covid runs counter to getting healthcare. 😵‍💫 But aside from costs, what are the arguments against such policies?

Question - for the first chart you use, the colors shift from what appear to be “low” to “moderate” and then to “high.” But looking at your other chart, the increases are relatively low compared to past waves. So how does one interpret it? Is it the case that Covid levels were /1

I know you’re not looking for an answer from some rando. But aside from the uphill battle of raising awareness for such a candidate, there’s also the massive hurdles of getting on the ballot in each state and then the Electoral College itself which is designed to prevent to viable 3rd parties.

I feel like I’m still young just not AS young. Mostly it’s from being around people in their 20s and early 30s. I don’t feel disconnected from them, quite the contrary. But it’s easier to see the differences in life experience and that makes me more aware of my age.

We have to revamp all three branches. I can see a scenario where Congress has more enforcement power over SCOTUS. But then how do you rein in Congress? And that means making that body more representative of the public. So gerrymandering needs to see its death knell as the Senate needs a reboot.

I’ve become more aware of the fact that I have way more connections to local elected officials and policymakers than I realized. So I’m making more of an effort to get in touch with them about the issues for which I want to advocate more which will have positive community impacts.
