Here’s an idea: get rid of Pope & Crawley from the test set up and make them captain/vice-captain of the ODIs, with a separate T20 captain. Never gonna happen, but would be an excuse to get them out of the test set up haha

I think the t20 game has messed cricket up. Technique is out of the window for power and the game is just worse off for it. And, dare I say, I think McCullum is creating a culture of very poor cricket which is a scary prospect for the future.

I was flicking through a very old book of John Taverner masses at Sheffield Cathedral the other day, all with original note values etc. that kinda stuff really is the best music ever written! 1400–1550 is the golden age of music, in my opinion!

The systemic racism in cricket is so rife. English cricket commentators complaining about the pitches in Pakistan saying they’re doctored. Whenever we have very short tests (7 since 2015) in the UK it’s because of the Bazball mindset and groundbreaking changes to test cricket. Give it a rest.

I got a small chicken to roast and it said on the packet to roast for 1hr 15. It was cooked in 45 minutes - ‘rose sur l’os’, as it should be. 1hr 15 for a small chicken is sacrilegious! What an absolute waste. Who comes up with these times?!?!
