Fjädrar is becoming so self indulgent and I’m so happy cuz I seriously have the best time drawing it

Sent in my submission for Silent Manga Audition 23 today! I really thought I would skip this round but managed to squeeze together a short 8 pages ✌️

I HAVE NEVER LOOKED PRETTIER 😭💖

Niki Hjort @nikihjort.bsky.social · 25/08/2025

Hahah nejmen precis, jag är inte direkt ute efter att det ska se helt realistiskt ut utan bara nice att inte behöva tänka på hur all ”folds” funkar själv 🤣 but good point indeed!

000

Niki Hjort @nikihjort.bsky.social · 01/08/2025

And it also made me realize HOW much I draw but you never see it cuz most of the time when I finish a manga page I don’t share it instantly the way I do with illustrations. One illustration that took like 3 hours can be seen as one finished work one manga book takes literally thousands of hours…

Niki Hjort @nikihjort.bsky.social · 01/08/2025

Participating in Artfight really got me out of a huge personal-art-artblock and now something just burst and I’ve been drawing so much illustrations for myself again 💕 It’s a nice change from all the manga making

Going into the ”Hotel Reverie” blindly only to get absolutely smacked in the face with literally the plot of my comic Fjädrar?! Maybe not ’literally’ but??? A doomed lesbian love story where the main character falls in love with a fictional/imaginary girl named Clara?!?!?!?!? HELLO

Niki Hjort @nikihjort.bsky.social · 14/07/2025

My first attack on #artfight2025 #artfight this is @nikihjort.bsky.social 's character Namn!

Portrait/bust drawing of a woman with shortish pink hair. She is wearing a white tank top, she has a little planet themed earring, eyebrow piercing and a piercing higher up on her ear. He eyes are blue. She is looking directly at the viewer. The background is skythemed with some clouds and sparkles.

Every Junji Ito anime adaptation showcases how comics aren't some throwaway stepping stone to animation and cinema, and that we should stop treating them as such. Comics, like prose novels, are their own medium that can convey things animation and video cannot.

I’ve drawn so damn much on this trip omfg… 6 fully colored illustrations in less than a week is wild for me

040

Niki Hjort @nikihjort.bsky.social · 29/06/2025

Me and gf are in a 10+ car ride home from our trip so we’ve been drawing the entire time hahahah… Been entertaining myself by drawing us as POPMART characters 🫣💖

Me and my gf as SKULLPANDA!
The proportions were traced off of the official figures to get them right, only for fun and without any commercial purposes of course! Just for full disclosure 🩷

I’m currently camping in the Netherlands with my gf’s family and I got sick mid trip which kinda sucks, staying inside today to rest while the others are out… 🥹However chilling and drawing inside a house car isn’t half bad it’s actually really cosy here
