At long last, my full panel at WorldCon is up! It was a joy to connect with fans of The Wheel Of Time, and talk about the unique “musical world building” approach to making The Hills Of Tanchico.

What an incredible weekend at Worldcon! 🪐From speaking on panels about how music shapes fantasy worlds to catching up with some of the absolute masters of the genre, it felt like coming home.

We got Thom singing in season 1! And the Manetheren song in both sS1 and S3! Elayne's "The Hills of Tanchico" remains one of the highlights of the entire series to me! A gift from Rafe, everyone involved, & especially @nikhilkoparkar.bsky.social , Ceara Coveney, Alexandre Willaume, & Donal Finn!

One of my favorite projects has been composing the bespoke soundtrack for Philip Chase’s Edan Series. In this clip, I talk about how we incorporated an original in-world language into the score to make the music feel like it genuinely belonged to the world. 🎼📚

Here’s the main theme from THE CONDUIT, the new horror film I scored and co-produced! One thing I learned on this project is how valuable it is to be on set. Watching the actors inhabit the space and experiencing the atmosphere in person influenced the music in ways I don’t think the cut ever could

Another one for the books! It was great meeting new filmmakers, as well as celebrating the end of the festival run for THE CONDUIT, a film I was fortunate to compose the music for and co-produce How lucky am I to work with such talented people who I can also call some of my closest friends? ❤️

After writing music for shows like The Wheel Of Time, I decided to turn the lens inward, and write something personal. Inspired by Walden by Henry David Thoreau. The title track of a three-EP interconnected concept. Face the Music is out now.

Nikhil Koparkar @nikhilkoparkar.bsky.social · 24/02/2026

I’ve spent the last several years writing music for film, television, and fantasy worlds. This time, I had to turn the lens inward. “Face The Music” is about confronting yourself and finding the courage to be true to yourself. Out Friday. If that resonates, presave it now. Link below..
