Happy Halloween peoples! I got another one of my characters in a Palworld cosplay for the spooky times. When I was looking through the Paldeck for drawing ideas I saw Nyafia and immediately went "oh, that one's perfect for Ras"

Wyven and Scrappy have their costumes ready for Halloween, dressed as Katress and Mau I'd like to think that someone dared her to do the sad cat dance because she wouldn't be caught dead doing it otherwise lol

Completely normal, yep The cake is indeed just a normal store bought cake, Nameless is just fucking with everyone lol Melaina's birthday was on the 13th, I rarely get the chance to draw something for it since I'm always too busy with Inktober and Halloween prep at this time of year

Text on cake says: TOTALLY NORMAL NOT TAMPERED WITH

I made this for a Phantasy Star Online RP server I'm in. They're an organization and cleaning robot who's modelled after a Summoner class pet called a Popple. This was mostly done for fun.

Text on image reads:

Designation: P.O.P.P.L.E.
Personal Organization Proficiency Palletizing Levitating Encoder

Trying my hand at making a more professional looking character sheet, specifically one that could potentially be used for 2D animation. This is Ras, a mercenary for the Galactic Anti-Poaching Organization. She's a hyena tiger alien thing

Turnaround concept art sheet showcasing Ras, a humanoid alien with big cat-like ears on the sides of her head, big cat-like purple eyes, a mane of black hair going from her head to the top of her back, a short snout instead of a nose, a long striped tail with a fluffy tuft of white hair on the end, and black skin with bright purple stripes. She's wearing a red-violet tube top, green cargo pants, some blue-grey custom made boots with a little bit of a high-tech look, and she has a faded tattoo in the middle of her back that consists of an oval with a crescent shape underneath it.

Line art version of the previous image. The line art is primarily black but the parts where there is no line art in the colored version such as her stripes is represented by red lines. These red lines are standard in hand drawn animation to mark lineless shapes and color borders on a character or object before the drawings are finalized and colored.

Super minor Deltarune chapter 3 spoilers but it's out of context Loving the new chapters so far, when I came across this moment in the game I had to draw it lol

Digital drawing of the character Susie from Deltarune wearing a green dinosaur costume while suspended in the air by a rope. Susie is giving a little "heck yeah" and is emanating a large amount of chaotic gremlin energy.

Every artist starts somewhere, and we all started off with really shitty art skills First pic was done 11 years ago in a free old version of Photoshop with just a mouse. Second pic is the result of patience, trial and error, and persistence There is no excuse to use AI, pick up the damn pencil

One of the most common arguments you hear from fans of generative ‘AI’ is that it’s not plagiarizing people’s work, it’s just learning like a human learns. So I’m going to break down why that’s just not true, and why it can never be true, with the existing systems. 1/

"A Phantasy Star Gathering" After over a year it's finally finished! I'm so happy with how this turned out :D And most importantly my friends loved it. Each person got to pick a character from PSO2 for me to draw #digitalart #pso2

'Tis the end of February So before the month is over, here's a little bonus reference drawing from when I was designing these outfits

A reference drawing made to help me brainstorm the designs for necromancer themed outfits for two of my characters. Nameless (left) has a more witch doctor themed outfit with a skull-like half mask and a suit with skeletal hands printed on it. Melaina (right) has a more elegant ballgown themed outfit adorned with bone spikes, crow feathers, rose patterned lace, and skulls.

010

NightSmudge @nightsmudge.bsky.social · 15/02/2025

Happy Valentine's Day everyone! It's been a minute since I've made a drawing (shamelessly) shipping these two I drew a necromancer outfit for Melaina a few years ago and Nameless's last Halloween, so I thought I'd have them dress up together (and make a really bad pun. They're Nec-romance-rs lmao)

A digital drawing depicting my characters Melaina and Nameless dancing in a foggy graveyard. They're both dressed in necromancer themed outfits. Melaina is dressed in an elegant dark red gown adorned with bones and crow feathers. Nameless is wearing a bright red and muddled green suit that's decorated with bones and a skeletal hand pattern.

It is year of snek, have (apparently my only) snek oc He's an undead snake ringleader I made a decade ago ...I need to make more danger noodles I am surprised and ashamed that this guy is my only snake character that isn't a one-off doodle #yearofthesnake #lunarnewyear

A rough digital drawing of a young man in slightly disheveled snake-themed ringleader attire. He has snake-like features as well as a gaunt face and wispy ghost-like hair. The whip he's holding in his hand has a snake head on the end and can transform into a snake familiar.

The small sketchbook on the right shows a drawing of Coldblood from 2015. The drawings on the left show my design process for figuring out how to update this character.
(Dear god I want to come up with a new name, Coldblood is so edgyyyyyyyy)

Oh boy it birthday! There has certainly been a level of underlying stress that has prevented me from really thinking about today. Thankfully a lot of progress was made to contain the LA fires but it kinda stopped me from making concrete plans. At the very least I still got cake

A drawing depicting my persona character Smudge having a slice of chocolate cake, giving a nervous thumbs up, and trying to stave off stress.
The banner in the background says "CONGRATULATIONS! YOU SURVIVED LONG ENOUGH TO WITNESS ANOTHER HISTORICAL EVENT!" and has a flame pattern.
Smudge is saying "Yay... I was not expecting a major natural disaster this close to my birthday... or this close to me"

I don't think anyone expected to start their year like this... I'm fairly close to the Eaton fires, it's terrifying but thankfully my family and I are far enough away If you can, please spread the word or donate, I'll post some links below #lafires #losangelesfires

Top panel depicts my persona character Smudgy clutching a sketchbook and triumphantly holding up a pencil on January 1st 2025. She's exclaiming: "I'm going to take 2025 head on and make it my year!"
The bottom panel depicts Smudgy on January 8th 2025, the day the Eaton and Palisades fires broke out. Her pose is far less enthusiastic as her hair blows in the wind and she's backlit by the fires behind her. In the background is a smokey sky full of embers and soot, a helicopter in the distance, and two mountains that are on fire. All Smudgy can say in her terrified bewilderment is "Oh..."

In the corner is a small message:
My family and I are ok, the fires are far enough away from our house. Stay safe LA peoples. -NightSmudge

To close out 2024, I drew this in celebration of having these characters for over 10 years It's crazy to see how much Melaina and Nameless have changed, from a couple of edgy Mary Sues to lonely individuals pretending to be ok I wouldn't be the artist I am today without these two

A digital drawing depicting two characters and the changes to their designs at five different points of time; Melaina Death and Nameless the half demon
The first drawing, the lowest quality, was done in 2014, then 2014-2015, 2016-2018, 2019-2023, and finally the characters' latest iteration in 2024

Nameless is infamous for stealing souls and either turning them into wispy little minions for his army or feeding them to one of him monsters. The lucky ones who deserve a second chance become Soul Minions. The unlucky ones who weren't good people get eaten. #inktober #inktober2024

A drawing of six characters done in pen and inks.
In the top left are ghostly creatures called Soul Minions, the three shown here are named Wisp, Nibbles, and Blue.
In the top right is Beelzebub in three iterations, their small rabbit form, a large monstrous form, and their past self as a tattered toy rabbit (Bun).
The same goes for Azazel in the bottom left, their toy version being a shattered ceramic gryphon (Ari). And in the bottom right is Buer, their toy version being a scuffed up plastic scorpion with the left claw and stinger missing (Burly).

Oh boy now I can start posting this year's Inktober drawings :D For much of history, all demons were heavily discriminated against, literally being demonized for centuries. These four had a major role in promoting demon rights and showing they're no more good or bad as any angel or human #inktober

A drawing of four characters done in pen and ink. From left to right, top to bottom: Nitenri the demon of night and mayor of the town Ombra Nera, Spectria the angel of light and Prime Minister of Cumulous Valley, Guilden the guardian angel and Deputy Prime Minister of Cumulous Valley, and Matthias the demon who was the face of the demon rights movement in the 70's.
