I'm on the last few parts of Act 2 as Theodora in #fireemblem and boy howdy did the difficulty just trickle up out of no where during this act. I don't hate it, but now I feel underleveled. #videogames #switch2

So I've been playing Blood of the Dawnwalker. Just a recommendation, don't be like me and rush to meet Anca right after the game opens up. I'm fighting a boss severely underleveled, and while fun...it certainly is frustrating. #gaming #rpg

I don't know what I am sick with, but after 3 days of various versions of pain...relief. How absurd life is.

Resisting the urge to turn my site into another gamified TTRPG backed reading tool, but not well. I built achievement mechanics and unlocks, now I need #artists to work with to turn this thing into an adventure mode to unlock journaling tools. Stickers, themes, that kind of thing.

@lizzieohreally.bsky.social It should be live now. Scan a page via the compose (next to excerpt). I'm working on making it look nicer next. Should work especially well on highlighted text.

Working on OCR today, we'll see how that turns out. Using Google's Vision API, hopefully that makes things a bit easier than hooking into a LLM and then exposing data to the bots. #buildinpublic

Why is it that existential dread hits the hardest when I'm trying to sleep? It's a battle my mind has been waging against me for years. I hope it gets easier to reconcile life and whatever it feels like after. Maybe it's just the wave of depression crashing again. I should write about this more.

eThanOS @nightport.city · 12/08/2026

Found a couple of major bugs in the code today. Leaf is no functioning properly, no shuffles until there are enough entries to get one. Had to nuke some rows in the DB to get it to behave, but settled that and the encryption recovery phrase confirmed good. That was stressful. #buildinpublic

Released even though I wasn't happy with the art for it. Shelf is working to switch between books the books from clubs, and other's shared books to your library Going to have to think how to organize things better. @bookjanitor.bsky.social 's shared entry as example. #booksky #buildinpublic

Nothing too exciting today...couldn't sleep so more background work on layout and tidying up a real dev instance.

000

eThanOS @nightport.city · 04/08/2026

Some slight updates while I'm laying down on a sick day. Played with the UI a bit for the logger box. Some background work on profiles, and some other sharing functions. Rethinking the structure of the book viewer. Might take a pivot with some recent inspiration. Web #animator needed bad.

020

eThanOS @nightport.city · 03/08/2026

Anyone do web #animation for sites at reasonable rates. Still looking for all kind of #art and assets for locuscommunis.com Even some work for #authors coming up if my main feature set pans out. Definitely paid, but I need to know what to plan for, budget wise. #buildinpublic

Locus Communis · A Commonplace Book

A digital commonplace book: the words you keep become a journal that goes with you. Yours to read, print, and export.

eThanOS @nightport.city · 03/08/2026

Fed my ego a little too much to be content with myself today.

000

eThanOS @nightport.city · 03/08/2026

Your personal text is now sealed by design, encrypted in transit, at rest, and only you can unlock, export, or restore them. Encryption by default. Your words are for your eyes only, and will not be shared unless you explicitly want it to be, admins included. #buildinpublic #booksky #journaling

Time to go to work I guess. #book #club management is going through an overhaul in between what I am working on for encryption across some new writing surfaces. #buildinpublic #commonplace #journaling
