Yup. I've always had yeah garbage eyes my entire life...really severe nearsightedness. They corrected me to where I will only need reading glasses occasionally.

I had monovision done which use what I had in my contacts: one eye fort distance, one for close. And I do have mild astigmatism but regular lenses worked just fine. I had a very high script for my glasses and had almost maxed out where I couldn't wear contacts anymore. This is life changing.

I have a very mild astigmatism and they had got me approved for toric lenses but it was ultimately decided I didn't need them. But yeah, the disconnect. It's really bizarre saved almost disorienting.

Had my cataract surgery for my second eye two days ago and it's so bizarre not wearing glasses or contacts at all for the first time in 40+ years. I'm truly jawdropped. I'll still need reading glasses occasionally, possibly night driving glasses, but, like....wow.

No they're implanting a new lens and that lens is corrective. That's how it works now. They suck out the older cloudy lens and implant an artificial one.

It was. But I'm kinda upset with some things. They're planning on doing both eyes for distance which... How am I supposed to use a computer at work or read. Tomorrow at my post op I'm going to ask if we can switch to monovision. Was told at my consult that I'd only need readers and I feel misled
