Wild to me that there is a machine that gives you answers correctly 80% of the time, and makes stuff up 20% of the time and most of the time people don’t double check what it says.

LLMs are definitely changing writing, but it goes both ways: if you don’t want to write you can outsource more and more of the work to LLMs. But if you want to write more and better, LLMs are incredible tools!

Solar energy is growing 26% per year while global energy demand grows 1.5%. Here's the wild part: If this continues, solar will power *everything* by 2044. And I mean everything - not just electricity. 🧵👇
Global energy consumption (blue) grows slowly at 1.5% per year. Solar energy (orange) grows exponentially at 26%. If these trends continue, the lines cross in 2044 - when solar will supply ALL the world's energy needs.

It’s funny that no one talks about the Chinese room anymore. It fueled endless skepticism of AI, but was always obviously flawed. Now it’s dead and buried and no one will admit to having ever believed it.
