It took a decade, but maybe the Brewers finally can call it even with Manny Machado.

Maybe Patrick? It probably depends on where it falls in the order. I feel like the bottom of the order may be the spot you try to get them in, and with them all being righties, I’d imagine you try to sneak Patrick in.

I made that comment to my wife. The number of times San Diego has had Bogarts and Cronenworth in just the right spot is maddening.

Yeah, my theory on this (based on how close WI polling is) is that the battleground states have hardened in a way that isn’t true in the non battleground states, so there’s more possible movement in places like Kansas, Iowa and Nebraska than Michigan.

I’m curious what triggered this observation.

I realize this may be a venn diagram of, well, me, but @pablo.show you should connect with @roystream.bsky.social about the Tebow story. They are a strong investigative outfit that has a solid understanding of the religious context and may be able to add some extra nuance to your reporting.

Potentially Boston to Tampa to San Diego. That would be less than ideal.

Chris Nielson @nielsoncp.bsky.social · 24/09/2026

Except, famously, LeBron is living in New York and commuting to Philly by helicopter. You should remind him of that fact soon.

Counted yes, reported no. They haven’t uploaded the count, but it was recorded Last night.

Chris Nielson @nielsoncp.bsky.social · 12/08/2026

Same goes for Green county - tech failure that impacted how quickly they could upload results.

010

Chris Nielson @nielsoncp.bsky.social · 12/08/2026

i was on the late night stream for a statewide political analyst ( @danshafer.bsky.social’s Recombobulation Area) and they mentioned that there was a server failure. They had to deliver the results to the central area by hand and upload them, which was causing delays. Last night was a night here.

Time to find out how good the Hong and Crawley ground games are when it’s time to cure provisional ballots.

Chris Nielson @nielsoncp.bsky.social · 03/08/2026

Eh, I’m ok with it. I don’t think Logan Henderson was worth it in a rental trade for Skubal, and there wasn’t a clear upgrade for a batter out there. We have insurance now in the rotation and bull pen. Eyes on the bye, and we hope an extra year of experience means the lcs goes better this time.

I think this could make sense - it frees them up to move Sanchez without having to move Quero to the majors.

Still absolutely awful, to be clear.

You watched the Wisconsin Dem Gov debate last night didn't you...

I have an ooni. If I could do it again I’d get a Gozney - I think the slide flame is easier to cook with than one at the back.

@timmiller.bsky.social I think you or another bulwarker were talking about Pete Hegseth’s weird corner of Christianity. Doug Wilson is the founder of said denomination.

I mean, your favorite (Midwestern) gas station is Kwik Trip. At this point you at least have a Wisconsin green card.

I realize that I was wrong and Protaziewicz ran in 2023, not 2025. That was Crawford. My apologies for implying that you didn't want to type out a Polish last name all evening.

000

Chris Nielson @nielsoncp.bsky.social · 08/04/2026

I see someone doesn't want to type Protasiewicz all night long when comparing to last year's results. 🤣

I had a big work conference there every few years for a decade and always made trips to Sauce on the Side (calzones) and Pappy’s Smokehouse (bbq.) They still get rave reviews when I tell folks to go there now.

This quote from Frederick Douglass was super helpful for me in contextualizing this dynamic - once you see it in the 1850s you can't unsee it today: www.berkshirepublishing.com/blog/religio...

That was always the irony of that site for me - a place that used to be a welcoming home became a place of exclusion and exile. Hopefully it can be used for good again once ICE vacates.

That is the point where CBS cut into the live stream which is... a choice.

@millersimul.bsky.social here is the skeet - the Above and this thread helped a lot.

Chris Nielson @nielsoncp.bsky.social · 13/02/2026

I have a reply to a skeet from some of our Minnesota brethren that had some good mutual aid tips in it. I’ll tag you in the thread - it was helpful for me to think through how to organize people here in Milwaukee.

Chris Nielson @nielsoncp.bsky.social · 07/02/2026

For all, and it was definitely worth all the time as a part of your 5 person audience, including that follow up on the discussion with Rigney and the Basham update. Thanks to you both for seeing clearly the power dynamics at play and speaking truth in the middle of them.

God very clearly picks a side between labor and capitol That doesn’t neatly fit his preferred camp. It felt clear that this is a political project garbed in a theological one, even if he isn’t aware of it. I’m glad he was willing to venture in, and was shocked that he did - hopefully it was edifying

Don’t be! That was deeply revealing. I was so glad you and Ben pushed him on the USAID piece and got the answer you did, and I have so many thoughts about all of it - I’m curious about how his need to have compassion rooted in scripture impacts his view of, say, labor relations where…

I was not expecting a Dan Carlin length episode today. I would have scheduled thing differently had I known. 😂

I think a 6. I appreciate the changes/depth up front, but we really could have used a wingback for depth/cover. I don't think Cacace will stay fit down the back stretch, but I guess we will see.

I recognize you’re in the teeth of it, but I would have never thought of laundry as a need. As a neighbor to the southeast who is trying to prepare, what besides groceries and laundry should we be organizing for? (Feel free to answer at your leisrue.)

I haven't tried this recipe specifically, but Sally's is usually spot on in her recipes. If you want to make a run at doing one this weekend.

If you have a spring form pan you can make a decentish replica at home. It's a mistake I've made in the past.
