Nothing is guaranteed, but it feels so good to have a goal and something to put my energy towards

Just spoke with a local university about a program for a teaching certification. With my prior classes and background I may be in line for a fast track completion... fingers crossed 🤞

I really fucking love that, in an election cycle that should be a blue tsunami, my homestate that is consistently ignored as a "safe" dem state is this tightly contested. For the past decade I have predicted that OR will flip by 2030. Very few ever took me seriously. Please let me be wrong

CW: pet death So... the spare bathroom has been essentially closed up since my cat Bear passed last year. We had put in his carrier and a couple other things in there and said "we'll deal with it later." Well. Now later is upon us. Trying not to lose it as I step on an old squeaky toy rn...

I hoped the current cultural moment surrounding the hatred of data centers causes a reckoning regarding water consumption and energy use in general. Yes, AI use will kill the environment, but we have spent DECADES doing damage with every google search and every youtube video played

OK... I finally have everything set up for the great migration from old gen pokemon to pokemon home. Since I still have time between now and the bank closure, I think I will replay Colosseum, get all of the shadows, Ho Oh and the Jirachi to bring as well. Just need a link cable for GBA/GC

Back on my bullshit (writing cringe lyrics to process my depression that will sit on a notepad collecting dust) But for real though, sometimes you just gotta get the things in your head out and onto a page. Don't hold onto that shit, it's killing you.

Man it'd be so cool to have an economy based on what is actually produced and traded rather than having the majority of capital tied up in speculative gambling... But the current model has "been around so long" and has "worked for so many people" that we can't ever even discuss a different approach

If I am honest, neither. I think 20 y/o me would be happy to see some of my growth, and sad to see my loss of passion and fire. I'd like to think they'd buy me a drink and tell me it's never too late to try

Massie setting himself up for a 2028 run at the presidency. I don't think his coalition of "anti MAGA" grifters will get far, the party is dead. And hopefully we can bury it deep enough to STAY dead

The Rocky/Creed franchise is one of the best (and most misunderstood) of all time. I could write a book about the films. Sadly, Stallone is a real piece of shit who doesn't understand his own character.

PSA: yes the format is proxy friendly (please please try it out, come play!) BUT make sure to check in with the LGS first, some stores do have limits on proxies in your deck. Everyone is super friendly though and just wants you to be able to play the game 😄 #magicthegathering

It has been a long time since I have picked up a guitar (and have never claimed to be good even when I was playing more regularly) but I can tell when someone is faking it. I HATE when singers throw on a guitar for a photo op instead of actually playing

Lot of thoughts on this film. All in all, glad I took time for myself to see it. Warning regarding drugs/alcohol and suicidal ideation. Won't go too far into it because I actually do want people to go see it. A fitting tribute to JDF and I was getting emotional towards the end. Legends Never Die

Sooo I totally forgot this movie came out this weekend... the last thing JDF filmed. After a week of more lost legends, I think I will need to find a theater playing this. May The Power Protect You youtu.be/rSkzBLfji_o?...

One recurring theme I hear from so-called AI futurists is that people will need to effectively become entrepreneurs and build a brand rather than rely on traditional employment. Maybe someone can explain it to me like I am 5, but I just don't seem to get how that would work out financially.

Me catching up on the Grumplocke: Oh ok cool they finally made it to E4 with a somewhat reasonable team. Now they can take some time to delete some of the HM moves and take stock of held items and useful TMs and.... wait no... NOOO DON'T JUST RUSH IN LIKE A MANIAC

Didn't win the games tonight BUT won the moral victory by proving my Chris Rahn art deck can hang. Everyone (including me) was having a good chuckle knowing that it is the opposite of an optimized build, but turns out giving an angel multiple swords can still present a real threat in 2026

Reminder with the news about Pokemon Bank, if you never got Poke Transporter there are still ways to get it on your 2DS/3DS for free so that you can get the tools to move older gens forward without spending 100s on a used console from ebay that may or may not have the software you paid for #pokemon

It is so fucking frustrating that Dem politicians still haven't gotten the message more than a decade later. Their inability (or unwillingness) to enact fundamental changes to improve the lives of their constituents will lead to a pseudo-populist backlash (ie. Trump 2016)
