Last 10 years? Oof, might be easier to just list the ones I know I haven’t been to

This is always the way! You do however get more praise for working long hours to meet a deadline at the end than just working regularly the whole time undramatically

010

Matt Coulter @nideveloper.bsky.social · 15/12/2024

The flip problem is that without fixed dates the developers somehow take the same amount of time if not more to do the same thing. Damned if you do, damned if you don’t

Matt Coulter @nideveloper.bsky.social · 15/12/2024

Past Matt did the same thing with a 3.5 hour layover in London Heathrow at 5am…

At the quarterly meeting of Matts we all agreed there has to be at least 2 of us in every meeting everywhere for max confusion but the specific one of us is swappable for any other so all good 😂

Matt Coulter @nideveloper.bsky.social · 12/12/2024

I hear we are easily confused lol

On the plus side, it sounds like the moon will at least have decent public transport 😅

Why is it that I hate travelling to Vegas for re:Invent and yet I always leave super inspired to achieve something immediately afterwards? Hopefully someday we will have teleporters and I can have the inspiration and interactions without the jetlag

It's a good time to re-introduce myself to new followers and give an update! I'm unexpectedly on the job market after abrupt layoffs at AWS and am looking for a new opportunity on an education-focused engineering team. I have 24 years' experience as a software engineer, dev advocate, and team lead

It had to travel to the full blown international mail hub… to go down the road…

You know the worst thing? You can straight up see the slow fall of standards leading to the disaster like a river to a waterfall but saying anything makes you not a team player so it’s worse than not being promoted, it’s PIP’d. Fixing it dramatically when they go over the edge makes you a hero 🙄

010

Matt Coulter @nideveloper.bsky.social · 21/11/2024

When you post a letter from Belfast to Dublin (~100miles away, straight road) and it’s 4 days later still in transit… next time I might just take the train down myself and do it same day 😅

I’m beginning to think someone should just take one of the now extinct awesome twitter clients and we all use it but underneath someone moves us to whatever platform we’re using today 😅

Matt Coulter @nideveloper.bsky.social · 20/10/2024

I just saw this! How are you keeping? In case you didn’t find out in the past 6 months, it’s in November!

Matt Coulter @nideveloper.bsky.social · 23/06/2023

When um Kristi Perreault and I solve a hedge maze together forgetting our apple watches were tracking location 😂

The only way to describe it is a spaghetti mess of us trying every path 😂

000

Matt Coulter @nideveloper.bsky.social · 06/06/2023

Oh yeah, electricity has more than doubled price in the last year. It’s at the point where everyone is turning everything off and still getting big bills. Interesting that the cold costs power too, we get mild winters but 0C is still common

000

Matt Coulter @nideveloper.bsky.social · 05/06/2023

People have been telling me it is costing them £40/£50/£60 to charge their electrics in NI. My other “fear” is as I said I put £20 in my GTI when it needs it and move on but batteries like to be cycled or continuously drip fed so it seems like another battery to care about

110

Matt Coulter @nideveloper.bsky.social · 04/06/2023

The fact that you both charge it from the regular plug gives me much more hope. I’m super low mileage so I put ~£20 of petrol in maybe even a month in my GTI so electric will just cost me money at current costs but we have no choice soon

120

Matt Coulter @nideveloper.bsky.social · 04/06/2023

I have two questions - where are you charging it and how many miles do you regularly drive? I don’t wanna install a charger at my house that’l be out of date in 2 years
