I only played maybe the first hour of Requiem last night, I'm blown away by not just the game itself, but also how the Nintendo Switch 2 handles the visuals. You can see a lot of the lessons they learned from RE7 and Village in the first person sections, which are downright frightening.

The scary stuff is almost as intense as in Barbarian, which scared the fucking shit out of me. And yet I haven't laughed this hard at a movie in a long time. The script is funny. Bryan is hilarious, at times despicable but in a way that is very intensely relatable.

It's rare to see a movie with such a distinct sense of its own geography. And the path he works much like an actual resident evil game to a degree that actually blows my mind. The locations in this movie all feel connected, there's even what feels like a disc 1/disc 2 split.

Resident Evil is a seriously incredible, fucked up, and awesome movie. I can’t believe how much it actually felt like a Resident Evil game without really adapting any of the story material of an existing Resident Evil game.

I will admit there’s a part of me that hopes that, if there’s a season two for Lanterns, we get to see some of the off-world Green Lantern corps, like Kilowog, and they loop in some of the more fantastical elements. That being said, I do not hold the absence of that stuff against the show as it is.

Yeah, there are some deep cut references in there too, which I found really cool, but not quite cool enough to make up for the slog of playing through it. The worst part is, I don’t even think it made me any better at the game. It’s just a time and patience vampire.

25 years later and the one thing I remember more than anything about 9/11 is just the way that pop culture lost its fucking mind in the immediate aftermath. It pretty much broke syndicated newspaper comics on every subsequent anniversary of 9/11 for a while.
