Sol doesn't mind added fragrances but gravitates toward herbal scents. When he has access to a bath, he smells of mint plant, leather and literal magical flowers.

Going to refer to when they're in city because the travel funk would be bad. Hart uses mild soaps and no perfumes so he usually has little to no smell on his own but he lives in a damp room with as many books and art supplies as he can get so there's lingering wet, parchment and charcoal smells.

Sol has a plan! It's a rudimentary and flexible plan but it's a plan! Find the Princess, Rescue the Princess, Keep Hart safe while doing it and Bring Sullivan to justice for his crimes. Hart does not *do* plans. Every time he sets an expectation, it is quickly unended by a certain Paladin-type.

H/C, angst, slowburn, 'it get worse before it get better' fic 50 chapters, 110k words, 4 in-world-months, 1 almost kiss in... The main POV character said something about "feeling happy" for the first time on page while the normally confident LI is in overthinking and feelings-denial hell instead. 🫡

Hart's Complex PTSD comes from his mom dying(he blames himself), being abducted, held, tortured and turned into a vampire against his will. Sol's PTSD comes from his family (and his leg) being eaten by a magical creature that looks like a regular deer but is NOT a deer.

I would call both Hart and Sol POV characters. The current draft is weighted more towards Hart's POV. They're the focus of the story. I especially want to expand how I explore Hart's cPTSD vs Sol's PTSD. There's also POV from Hart's mother but that's only in the prologue.

Hart strives to come off as an asshole in every first impression. The goal is to be as rude and unapproachable as possible. Sol is the sweetest and most friendly young man ever; he's a delight to be around. Which Hart considers to be extremely dangerous.

I don't know whether to call Hart's saddest moment his mother dying after nursing him through a highly contagious virus or somewhere in the final act. Sol's saddest moment is definitely the end of the Chapter titled Spider Lily.
