Hello everyone, I realise I’ve been quiet here for a few months, I thought I’d be back but then I needed another extended social media break from everything. I’ll probably dip in and out of here as I’ll likely be focusing mainly on instagram for now- hope you’ve all been keeping well 💜

That’s a wrap on 1970s set suspense thriller ‘Death Among the Pines’ ! 🎬 🥳 another feature as leading lady under my belt, and my first feature as first billing(!) 🙏 It was an exhausting but incredibly rewarding and fun block of filming! 🩷

Onto day 12 of better habits. For the first time in years I have a healthy sleeping pattern. Still woke up at 3am the odd day but I’ve been really strict with my sleep hygiene and doing everything I can in my power to maintain this. Feeling better for it 💛

For the first time *all year* the past two nights I’ve managed to sleep before 12am, stay asleep (for the most part) and successfully woke up at 8am. Such a simple thing but with chronic illness and painsomnia is such an achievement for me.

People who are new to writing alt text sometimes feel they must describe every detail, and then get overwhelmed by this pressure. Imagine a large crowd at a football game: you are not expected to describe every single person in a crowd in detail. This would be nearly impossible.

Did you know bunnies can hold a grudge for days? Well. Mine does. She missed being away from home from her favourite bun parent. Now she’s back and snuggling up to them at night she’s back to her usual self… Can’t make this shit up. 😂

So a while ago my friend who happens to be an awesome artist and overall human @gregfreeland.bsky.social drew Bunnelby for me. I think he captured her attitude PERFECTLY! ☺️he also loves bunnies. 🐰 🖤

Illustration of Bunnelby the rabbit in a comic book style By Greg Freeland. She has an irritated/ grumpy/ unamused expression with one of her front paws slightly raised. There is a speech bubble beside her that says “HMPH!”

She has an irritated/ grumpy/ unamused expression with one of her front paws slightly raised. We can see her whiskers clearly and her mane looks extra fluffy.

Bunnelby is now chilling in bed with her friend. She loves snuggling up to her plushies. I’m sure she’s reserving her energy so she can get her sweet revenge on me while I try to sleep later. Goodnight every bun! ❤️🐰❤️ she sends nose boops to you all. #bunnelbytherabbit

The look of betrayal! Poor soul needed to be syringe fed today after the vets. Between travelling/ stress of going to vets and missing her favourite human she was barely eating (showing no signs of stasis or pain) . She’s perked up after a few syringes of critical care! It’s always a messy job 🤣

Photo of Bunnelby a lionhead breed grey rabbit she has just recently been given a syringe feed mix. She has some formula stuck to her chin and a small drop on her head between her eyes: she looks very unamused.

Back home, I fell asleep while being driven home from location. Woke up wondering what planet I was on. Cuppa tea in my favourite bunny mug and some bourbon biscuits, heated blanket on. Grateful that’s my last outdoor scenes for the year, fibro pain and cold are not a good combination. 😮‍💨

Thank you to everyone who has watched Mercy Falls and has shared their kind words 🙏🏻 it was a joy to play a fierce role like Carla🩸🔪 here’s what the reviewers said.. #mercyfalls #mercyfallsfim #nicolettemckeown #laurenlyle #moviereview #horrormovie #filmsky #horrorcommunity

"The standout performance in Mercy Falls comes from Nicolette McKeown who is a force of nature in her role. She's dressed in black and out to kill... I could've seen the character of Carla becoming a Slasher movie villain in the vein of Jason Voorhees" - Aaron Carruthers

"Nicolette McKeown is excellent as the deranged former soldier." - Simons Horrible House of Horror
"McKeown taps into a new side of herself here. She convincingly portrays a crazed killer." Bobby LePire Film Threat

"Thanks in part to McKeown's convincing portrayal of a formidable nemesis. Her ability to swiftly switch from friendly to menacing injects a sense of dread and unpredictability into the proceedings." - Allhorror.com

"McKeown definitely makes for a convincing nemesis, capable from flicking an internal switch and going from friendly into "you are all going to die" mode in a moment." - Girlswithguns.org
"Lyle and in particular McKeown are quietly achieving physical leads with enormous character effectiveness." - Shane A Basset, The People's Movies

"A Scottish version of predator" - Phil Hoad, The Guardian

Film still: Nicolette Mckeown portraying her character Carla in the thriller movie Mercy falls. She has an irritated expression and is looking up at a mountain top calculating her next move on her journey. She has her hair in a messy ponytail, wearing a black top with a yellow Shemagh, and a large camouflage rucksack. She has blood smeared on her face and arms.
