Then she started prepping the veggies for the filling. Kai kept an eye on her as she carefully chopped the cabbage, making sure she didn’t cut herself, before they started forming the gyoza. It reminded him of when she was a toddler, and he would bring her into the kitchen when she couldn’t sleep.

They decided to make some gyoza, starting with the dough. Kai instructed her on which ingredients to get from the fridge, and how to combine them into the mixer until the dough was formed.

Juni headed into the kitchen. “How was your first day of school?” “Good. My butt hurts from sitting on those chairs all day though.” “Ah, I see. Here, come help me make dinner then. Wouldn’t want your bottom to hurt from sitting on the couch too long.” “Ughhhh, dad.”

Juniper was greeted by her bestie as soon as she walked through the door. 🐶❤️ “There’s my good girl! I missed you so much.” She coos, scratching under Koda’s chin. “June, is that you?” She hears Kai call from the kitchen.

She raises a brow. First day of school and her friends were already planning something in the middle of class? Sounded like them. “Okay, yeah. Count me in.” She whispered back.

“June-“ Kiyoshi whispers, glad to have finally gotten her attention. Though, to be fair, it was a miracle the whole class didn’t hear. “A bunch of us are getting together after school Friday. You in?” “Yeah, come!” Kaori chimes in. “It’ll be fun.”

“Pssssst.” …. “Pssssst! …. “Hmm?”

They headed to class. Juniper sat front and center, excited to learn. She wanted to know everything and had aspirations to be top of her class. Kai was a jack-of-all-trades Sim. And Zahra, though not having attended uni, knew a lot due to her job in the SBI. She wanted to make them proud.

“Look, there’s Juni!” She hears someone call. Turning, she finally sees her friends coming towards her. “Kaori! Finally!” “What do you mean ‘finally’? You’re the weirdo who got here freakishly early. You probably beat the staff.” “Ha, ha. Very funny.”

Her stomach fluttered with butterflies, equal parts anxious and excited. She stopped in front of her locker, admiring the decorations her and Kaori had put up earlier during orientation. Deep breath. “You got this.” She muttered to herself, exhaling all the nerves and embracing this next step.

I *very* loosely based my legacy founder, Zahra, on Tory Vega from the Zodiac Academy book series! Not on physical appearance but the Gen requirements made her personality quite similar so it was a good starting point for me to craft her backstory. And Kai is based around Lance Orion from ZA too!

And just like that, Juniper is now a teenager! Her second Gen. 2 trait is High Maintenance! Which is absolutely fitting due to her being a spoiled only child! She also aged up again with High Self-Esteem, and her child aspiration reward traits: Headstrong and Idea Person. 👑💅🏽

The next morning they celebrated Juni’s birthday at the park. ✨

They swapped stories, had a pillow fight (Juni lost) and stuffed their faces with popcorn. At the end of the night, they fell fast asleep snug as a bug in a rug.

That night, Juni invited Kaori over for a slumber party at their winter lodge. It was her birthday the next day and she wanted to spend the weekend with her best friend!

Zahra finished her own run right behind Juni, wanting to keep an eye on her in case anything happened. She ran over, picking her up and spinning her in the air excitedly, Juni clinging to her in response. “You were amazing, Bug! I’m so proud of you.” “Thanks mom, I love you.”

“Koda! I did it! Did you see me!” Juniper gushed as she noticed her dog waiting for her at the base of the mountain. Koda barked in response, leaping up and giving Juni a congratulatory lick on the face as she buried her face in her dogs’ warm fur.

Also, look how cute this was!! Juniper finished the run and Koda was waiting for her. I didn’t pose this or direct any of it to happen! It happened naturally and the cuteness almost took me out. 😩💛

Our little June Bug made it to the bottom successfully! Woohoo!!

Feeling brave and spurred on by Zahra’s encouragement, she leapt from one of the tiny mounds. She landed with an “oomph!” and wobbled dangerously, but managed to stick the landing and stay upright.

She braced herself, and with a mighty heave, she pushed herself over the looming edge and down the mountain! The cold wind whipped her pony tail back, an excited yell bubbling out of her as she descended at a rapid pace.

With Zahra giving instructions on the side line, Juniper got buckled and secured onto her ski’s. Her stomach fluttered with butterflies, nervous yet excited to finally join her family on the slopes. For it was the thing that had brought her parents together in the first place.

The time has come for Juni to tackle the Bunny Slope! She settled on this pretty blue and white snow suit and did her hair up in a bubble braid to match her mom. 🥹❄️

Juniper took her time sifting through all the clothes and gear. There were a lot of options and she wanted to be the best dressed on the slopes! Eventually she settled on a pair, and the family quickly changed and headed up to the mountain.
