Meet the company of The Trials! Rehearsals have officially started for our production of Dawn King's revolutionary and inventively theatrical play where a jury of twelve young people put adults on trial for the devastating damage they have done to the planet.

Morning commute - 29th Sept 2025 or 1875…?! #Glasgow #Filming
Old horse drawn carriage on tarmac road surface with large grand stone building behind. View taken on John Street as it cuts behind the City Chambers. There is a cart with a brass top urn in the foreground, with a large old horse drawn wagon with the words ‘Theatrical Removals’ on the side behind. In the background is the top of a blonde sandstone building.

Quick trip to #Leeds to introduce the screening of the brilliant drama-documentary ‘E.1027: Eileen Gray and the House by the Sea’ at #HydeParkPictureHouse. Loved sharing my thoughts on the making and survival of this #Modernist masterpiece. #TheStoriesWeTell #LeedsHeritageTheatres

Fun #ArtExplorer evening at the New Contemporaries exhibition @royalscottishacad.bsky.social - lots of bold and ambitious work by artists setting out on their career. On until 16th April. Definitely worth a visit!

A wonderful visit this weekend to Kelburn Estate near Largs. Main intention had been to see the #Graffiti #Castle - but I was thrilled to find the #Art waiting to be discovered on the walk up through the forest Glen. Perfect #ArtExplorer activity!
View of little concrete houses on metal rods staked into the ground and onto miss covered logs resting on the forest floor. Title and artist unknownAluminium ‘Standing Stone’ by Ruby Loveday. Large cast piece perched high above wooded glen. There is a bridge over a burn in the background. View of Kelburn Castle where the harled finish of the oldest part has been painted by Brazilian street artists to create a dynamic and visually arresting large scale work. Windows become the facial features of cartoon like characters and there is a riot of colour across the south facing wall.

Happy New Year! Ventured out for a short walk this afternoon after the sleet had cleared.
Countryside view as light is fading. A bank of trees in the foreground with hills shrouded in low cloud behind. The silhouettes of trees emerge out of the mist.

Had a billiant day with friends enjoying #ArtExplorer activity in #Perth. Included a second viewing of the powerful ‘Knife Angel’, a visit to the transformed Perth Museum to see the Stone of Destiny, and finally a whirl around the fabulous Scottish collection in the Art Gallery! #Culture #Heritage
View of Knife Angel sculpture standing in front of Museum. A large 27feet tall sculpture of angel made from 100,000 knives collected from knife amnesty bins. By artist Alfie Bradley and British Ironworks Centre. For me the expressive hands and face are asking ‘Why?’ - a powerful statement against knife crime. Internal view of the large central space in the refurbished Perth Museum. At the centre of the space sits a large timber box which houses the galleries housing the Stone of Destiny experience. View of some of the Museum collection. There is a timber model of a church on a timber plinth and timber fretwork and a stone in a glass display case. These sit in front of a richly decorated wall with an old arched timber door and large painted portrait. Photo of ‘Label, Infanta Maria Theresa’ by artist Derrick Guild. A portrait of a young woman in the style of an Old Masters painting spread across multiple paper tags. The young woman has decorations in her auburn hair and her white gown is decorated with strings of pearls.

Why is it that #Culture and #Heritage is always seen as an easy target when it is so important to our cultivating our sense of #Identity #Community and #Belonging? We will all be poorer without our local museums.
