I've finished the bat fursuit commission -- they're picking it up soon! -- and next in my queue is a bear puppet. Here's a very early WIP where you can see the essentials of the design process. The secret is the sample nose! ;) #FursuitMaker #PuppetMaker

Four step view of pattern design process: (1) measure the shape with a scrap piece of foam, (2) sketch out the shape and record all key measurements, (3) draft the piece using measurements and ruler, (4) cut the piece in foam to test it, being sure to pin a sample nose on that test muzzle

I’m feeling under the weather but I’ve made some nice chicken soup! Leeks, gold potatoes, lemon, and chicken. Homemade broth — when you buy a supermarket rotisserie precooked chicken, toss the leftover bits into a gallon ziplock in your freezer until soup day for a hearty stock #ChefRat

Tonight I made chicken soup from scratch and fresh bread. It’s a specialty—“pain sans recette”. Y’see, I mismeasured ingredients and only caught it after first proof period. :P So I added liquid until it felt right and a long knead to smooth out lumps. Saved it! Caraway seeds for flavor. #ChefRat

I made a sewing desk organizer! This took 75min and used only a ruler, knife, tape, and Amazon box which would’ve been recycled. I’m leaning into the cardboard aesthetic in workshop storage but you could also paint or cover it with drawer liner paper for a clean look. #FursuitMaker #WorkshopTips

Cardboard organizer tray from a used shipping box and masking tape and a little packing tape. Custom fit for my pencil cup and a thread basket (removable). Keeps a bunch of these loose small items from going off the corner of my work table.

Same, empty view. The odd square in the upper right compartment is to lift up the thread basket so the rim is flush.
