iiinova — where your digital self keeps evolving

Came out as a Sonic fan to someone at work last night. "Don't worry, we know." Still trying to get through this.

NicoCW @nicocw.bsky.social · 09/06/2026

I do feel like to an extent the game industry does listen to feedback, it's just that things take so long now that it's taking them years to respond with results. I actually do think we're coming back and not just from this Direct either.

NicoCW @nicocw.bsky.social · 09/06/2026

That Nintendo Direct was the true spirit of video games. No focus on battle pass or AI BS, everything looked unique, good balance of new and remake. I got no complaints this is basically what I've been wanting from video games.

NicoCW @nicocw.bsky.social · 09/06/2026

"That's all for today's Nintendo Direct. Our next announcement will be our last one for today. Take a look." >OpenAI logo appears.

It's over before you feel satisfied.

So Bubsy 4D is basically the video game equivalent of eating one single slice of pizza.

I had a dream I was relaxing in a hotel bathtub, then a textbox appeared that said "What are you doing? You should be training to become the best!" Then it faded to black and teleported me out front of the hotel naked with a towel and I couldn't go back in because the door was a texture.

Sonic Hysteria can't be handed off to another team like Moon Facility was.

1214

NicoCW @nicocw.bsky.social · 02/05/2026

I'm gonna figure that out real soon, I might make a Newgrounds page specifically for it but I'm not 100% on that yet.

So, back over a year ago, I came back to make an updated logo for #SonicHysteria at the request of @nicocw.bsky.social. However, now that the game is canned (but not the OST), I can share the logo before the official soundtrack gets uploaded! #SonicTheHedgehog #Sonic #FanGame #GraphicDesign (1/2) 🧵

Mario Odyssey was so good because it perfected the 3D platforming Mario is known for. DK Bananza has some of that, but it's not emphasized because the game is more built around smashing terrain, which is a unique idea that's new, but all I'm really doing is mindlessly mashing buttons.

NicoCW @nicocw.bsky.social · 10/11/2025

After playing enough Mario Kart World & DK Bananza, I'm not impressed with the Switch 2 and I don't like this direction Nintendo's taking. I think Nintendo games peaked with the Switch and now they're just coming up with ideas that sound grand and innovative but aren't actually that fun to play.

Trust me I'm not finishing this one.

If anyone has any criticism for Bubsy 4D, keep in mind that it was made before any standards for Four Dimensional games were established.

NicoCW @nicocw.bsky.social · 26/10/2025

Played the Bubsy 4D demo. Bubsy is an inspiration. He's proof that even those who were down bad their whole life can bounce up from rock bottom and show the world you mean business this time. I was ready to give up my dreams. But the Bubster reminded me it's never too late. Thank you.

I just think Yoshi needs to be taken out back and put out of his misery.

NicoCW @nicocw.bsky.social · 23/08/2025

Not feeling Bubsy 4D. It's good that Bubsy finally got clean, don't get me wrong, but it just isn't Bubsy anymore. He peaked when he tweaked.

Guys every time I pee and 2 streams come out at once the double boost song from Sonic Forces immediately plays in my head, I think I'm just cooked for life.

Please get these millennials out of Sega.

NicoCW @nicocw.bsky.social · 08/06/2025

Yeah I actually think you have to be brain damaged to want some of the things they showed at Summer game thing.

Like I've been begging these guys for a new 3D Donkey Kong since I was a kid, I would have given up my first born for it, was gonna be a cosmic event for me but it's too late because I'm more hype that those drunk 40 year old ladies laughed at my joke the other day.

NicoCW @nicocw.bsky.social · 24/05/2025

I'm still alive, I finally figured out how to be a normal person. Lost like 50 lbs, defeated social anxiety, now I have lots of friends and weekend plans and shit. Only thing making me question if this is a good route is the fact that there's a new 3D Donkey Kong game and I kinda just don't care.

Been away for a bit, I see Sonic fans are shocked and amazed to see a human woman. Glad nothing's changed.

NicoCW @nicocw.bsky.social · 26/03/2025

Thanks, that's actually the best way to put it into words, I was having trouble describing it to people.

Made more things that aren't music.

I grew up doing nothing but playing video games and watching TV and could never relate to anybody because of it. I stopped doing that and now everyone else on Earth does nothing but play video games and watch TV and I can't relate to anyone because of it.

This Sonic CD remake sucks

Working on it just need some more time, you're all gonna be in for something!

Winter needs to be cancelled, fuck this shit. And don't you tell me Winter is your favorite season because once you leave your mother's basement you'll realize it's not all fuzzy socks and gingerbread houses.

NicoCW @nicocw.bsky.social · 18/01/2025

I don't know if I should be nice to telemarketers. It's like... nobody wants these guys around, but they're just doing their best out there making a living. Do I prioritize my day-to-day kindness or do I plant the seeds of harsh reality to push the world towards a better future without them?

All I want to do is share my kangaroo sandwich with the world and my dreams are kangaruined.

050

Oh shit the Switch 2 got revealed

040

You can say the kangaroo really carries it.

How do they have kangaroo meat at the Amish market? How are the Amish getting kangaroos? Fuck it I guess, grilleday mate.

The other musicians, and there's still plenty of unreleased tracks I made.

I don't want to say anything just yet in case I change plans but I have been cooking.

The game is in great hands. This dev team is one of life's greatest blessings for me. We stuck with each other through the lowest of the lows and pulled through every time things looked bleak. Dev's a journey and I met the best nutjobs I ever could ask for on it.

0230

NicoCW @nicocw.bsky.social · 02/01/2025

By that I mean I'm struggling to make remixes, but excelling at originals. Things have been going great and I hit a level of self-confidence where I'm barely able to express myself through something that isn't fully mine anymore.

1260

NicoCW @nicocw.bsky.social · 02/01/2025

I stepped down from Sonic Hysteria a few weeks ago. Game is still being made by the rest of the dev team. Reason is because my life changed a lot these past 2 years, I've been grinding music and art behind the scenes, I've nearly reached my full potential, and Sonic is not my full potential.

Been meeting more musicians IRL and they tell me stuff like how their music has dark undertones to reflect the deepest pits of their psyche. And I'm just sitting here with my track like... yeah so this is what plays when the gang goes to the candy carnival in space to find the legendary cookbook.

0101

NicoCW @nicocw.bsky.social · 30/12/2024

Guy walking by me sounding really pissed off on the phone: "First of all, Mulan is one of my favorite movies!"

Some people have no charisma. Like they're not doing anything wrong and they're trying their best but it's just like... dude please shut up. I think I should feel bad but I can't because they have no charisma for my feeling bad receptors in my brain to work off of.
