AI for creators who still want to create. Give the clankers the shit that's keeping you from the page. You write.

five months of $510/mo going out and $13, $64, $110 coming in. pathetic. this month: $3,469. no launch, no kidney sold. i built a damned system that finds customers while i'm not scribbling at my desk. this isn't turning into a hustle bro account. just wanted to show you. big things coming.

An AI workflow shouldn’t require a workflow just to use it. I got tired of copy → paste → explain context → prompt → copy back. So I gave an AI assistant its own email address. Now the work shows up. I hand it off.

I’m convinced that Grok Bot is the ONLY good thing that’s come out of AI other than the LLMs themselves. They’re giving on month access to the $200 plan for free for anyone in the chat for the Grok Bot Galaxy livestream. Just putting it on your radar 👇

I sat down to write. By noon I had a title, twelve tabs, and a crappy second job I never applied for.
Dark portrait text card, cream type on near-black, thin copper rules at the top and bottom. The card reads:
Writing isn’t hard because writing is hard. It’s hard because the writing keeps getting interrupted by the work that pretends to help the writing.
You sit down to make the thing. Then the thing needs a Note. A reply window. A graphic. A thread. A recap. A “value add” so the algorithm doesn’t think you died and the clankers took over.
By noon the original thing is still a heading. I used to call this discipline. It isn’t. It’s twelve open tabs performing a hostage situation on one stoopid paragraph.
“I’ll just check one thing” is how an afternoon of thinking becomes an afternoon of maintenance. I know because I am the guy who checks the one thing. Then three more. Then wonders why the page feels thinner than it did at 9:14.
Most writers don’t need another fckn tool. They need fewer rooms they have to walk through before a sentence is allowed to be formed.
The supporting work will wait. It’s very patient. The “work around the work” is not.

Anthropic accidentally ran a perfect scarcity campaign: Release Fable 5. Give users 3 days. Have the government pull it. Wait 19 days. Bring it back for 6. Then charge by the token. Most companies manufacture urgency. Anthropic got theirs from the government.

1/ Your best sales page might be 6,000 words long. And it might never mention your offer. A serious article can pre-sell your expertise better than three weeks of launch content and one sweaty discovery call. Here's how 👇
Whiteboard infographic illustrating a five-stage pre-sales content library that moves a cold prospect from stranger to curious, convinced, and qualified through diagnosis, teardown, decision, demonstration, and cost-of-delay content before the sales call. A crossed-out example shows why trying to explain everything during one 30-minute call creates confusion and resistance.

7/9 The fix takes 30 seconds. Delete your last paragraph. Read the piece again. Ask: does this end stronger now?

The slowest way to grow on Substack is alone. The fastest is to borrow audiences that took other people years to build. 👇
"Black-and-white whiteboard sketch in black marker, landscape orientation, white background. A stick figure stands on a stage being handed a microphone by a host figure, in front of a large packed audience hand-labeled 'THEIR 5,000 READERS.' A few audience members are drawn standing up and walking toward the guest with small 'NEW FOLLOWER' tags, following them home. Illustrates borrowing a pre-built audience through a guest appearance."

1/ You don't have an audience. You have a lease. Every follower you built on LinkedIn, every YouTube subscriber, every connection on whatever X is calling itself this week, exists at the pleasure of a company that's never met you and owes you nothing.
"Black-and-white whiteboard sketch in black marker, landscape orientation, white background. A storage unit with its door rolled up, packed with small stick-figure followers hand-labeled 'YOUR 40,000 FOLLOWERS.' A stick-figure creator reaches for the unit but a giant hand from the right, hand-labeled 'PLATFORM,' holds the only padlock and key just out of reach. Illustrates that the audience is held by the platform, not the creator."

Substack is the only major platform that actively punishes the strategy that works everywhere else. Polished. Optimized. AI-assisted. Consistent. Every growth surface on Substack rejects all of it. The platform wants you to be an individual. How quaint.
"Black-and-white whiteboard sketch in black marker, landscape orientation, white background. A stick figure in the center holds up a single polished sheet hand-labeled 'AI-POLISHED POST.' Four arrows point outward to four destinations: LINKEDIN (with a HEART icon), MEDIUM (with a CLAP icon), YOUTUBE (with a THUMBS UP), and SUBSTACK (with a trash can drawn beside it). Illustrates that the same content reads differently on each platform."

1/ Most writers spend three or four days on a piece, hit publish, and then close the laptop with the satisfied conviction of a person who has just sent a drunk text. The send button was the whole experience. Then they wonder why nothing happened.

If you're under 1,000 subscribers and copying creators with 100,000, you're burying the only edge you have.
Handwritten note in black Sharpie on white printer paper with a message for small creators: stay weird while you’re small. The text explains that without a large audience, brand pressure, or rigid format, creators have the freedom to be specific, sharp, and unconventional instead of copying bigger creators. It encourages using the early “quiet phase” to become unique and harder to replace rather than trying to appear bigger or more polished.

1/ I built an AI whose only job is to tell me my writing is bad. Not "could be improved." Bad. Specifically, precisely, ruthlessly bad. It's the best thing I've ever done for my content. Here's the system:

The internet is writing Anthropic's crisis communications for them now. As a joke. On April Fools' Day. And honestly? It's better than the real thing. 🧵
Screenshot of a fake Anthropic blog post circulating on Reddit's ClaudeCode community, titled "We Leaked Nothing: An Exercise in Controlled Chaos," dated April 1, 2026. The post claims the 512,000-line Claude Code source code leak was a deliberate security exercise, names the project "Capybara" because the animal sits calmly while everything escalates, and ends by apologizing to researchers who spent their weekend analyzing documents written on a Thursday afternoon. It's not from Anthropic. It's the internet doing Anthropic's PR for them. As a joke.

Anthropic built "Undercover Mode" to stop Claude from leaking company secrets in public repos. The system prompt literally says: "Do not blow your cover." Then 512,000 lines of source code leaked via npm. Including Undercover Mode. Second leak in five days. 🧵⤵️
Black-and-white Sharpie-style two-panel doodle. Left panel: a confident stick figure holding up a sign reading "We're the careful ones." Right panel, labeled "5 days later": the same stick figure surrounded by scattered papers, a bucket labeled "CAPYBARA" on its head, saying "oops," while a smaller stick figure scoops documents into a bag labeled "GitHub mirrors." A paper on the ground reads "512K LINES."

Built a repurposing engine that turns one newsletter into 20+ platform-native pieces in 18 minutes. Not copies.Extractions... different threads pulled for each platform's culture. One creative effort, eight platforms fed.
Black-and-white Sharpie sketch of a stressed stick figure at a desk clutching their head, surrounded by flying papers and platform labels (Twitter, LinkedIn, Threads, Bluesky, Medium, Mastodon, Substack, Instagram) with stress lines radiating from their head and a clock on the wall showing time running out, illustrating the overwhelming chaos of manual multi-platform content distribution.

OpenAI killed #Sora and torched a $1B Disney deal. Not a tech failure. A taste failure. First flagship AI product shut down because audiences wouldn't watch the output. The slop has a ceiling. We just found it.

Anthropic shipped 80+ product updates in 52 days. Voice mode. Auto-memory. Computer use. 1M context in Claude Code. MCP elicitation. Cowork desktop. Skills over remote control. Most people caught maybe 5 of these. The tools are moving faster than anyone can track. Including the people using them.

I spent three weeks staring at the NYT "54% prefer AI" study. Everyone drew the wrong conclusion from it. The automation crowd sees vindication. The skeptics see apocalypse. Both wrong. There's a third read that nobody's talking about. It changes the math for solo creators entirely ⤵️

NYT blind test: 54% of 86,000 readers preferred AI writing over human writing. But they tested AI vs. average unassisted human writing. Not AI vs. a human who's documented their patterns and co-writes systematically. Completely different fight.

AI slop is a tax. And quality creators are the ones paying it. Your good content gets buried under mediocre AI output algorithms can't tell apart from yours. The slop factories profit on volume. You lose on visibility. The incentives will flip. They always do. Build the system now.

1/ I accidentally built a knockoff JARVIS this week. With a VM and 20 minutes of effort. Anthropic dropped two updates that, separately, are just nice features. Together (with one dumb hack) they're a full mobile-first AI workflow. Here's the setup 🧵
Hand-drawn Sharpie doodle showing a stick figure in a hammock controlling a desktop computer from their phone, with a sleeping laptop, a lobster waving goodbye, and a VM box labeled "ON." Title reads "JARVIS" crossed out, replaced with "JARVIS-ish." Illustrating a mobile-first Claude AI workflow using Remote Control and Cowork scheduled tasks as an alternative to OpenClaw.

Just read a newsletter about authenticity with zero authentic voice. Not written by AI. Written by a human so marinated in the content metagame that his writing about being different sounds identical to everyone else's. Ensloppification caught in the act. The call was coming from inside the house.

Anthropic says we're entering a "vibe working" era. I've been staring at that phrase for ten minutes. Vibe working. Like the opposite of whatever the hell we've been doing. Which I guess means we were vibe-less this whole time and nobody told us. 🤔😜
