The post makes the blocker look really bad out of context, but the blockee was in fact defending the "AI rights are trans rights" post. The cis person was correct and their sentiment is shared by most trans people (myself included)

Blockee was speaking in defense of this so not really. Many trans people (myself included) found this post offensive and transphobic, and the cis person being referred to here was just agreeing with our sentiment.

Watched Obsession the other night. Good movie, also very disturbing. Something I thought was pretty interesting is that the One Wish Willow isn't a monkey's paw; Ian's wish for a billion dollars seemingly had no strings attached. Things only went bad for Bear because his wish was evil.

The next time an emergency alert is sent out, some percentage of people will just think "ugh it's another PSA" and ignore the alert, even if it could contain information that is crucial for their survival. Whoever drafted and approved of using the alert like this is a buffoon.

Okay so about the recent severe alert that was just issued in the UK: Using the emergency alert system to distribute a PSA about the general risk of wildfires is not a good idea. It should be used for emergencies where evacuation or shelter is necessary. Using it for other purposes undermines this.

This isn't even just a UK media thing. After the recent Senedd election in Wales, the Swedish SVT's segment on it did not start with "Plaidd Cymru got the most votes", but with "Reform got the second-most votes", only briefly mentioning PC. It's absurd.

Tbh I think generative AI is the quintessential conservative technology. It can create stuff that superficially looks pretty, but it has no depth, and nothing it creates is truly new, rather just a regurgitation of that which came before it. It is "art" that cannot challenge the status quo.

Unironically I think these sorta shots can feel more authentic than just showing a dark scene where you can't see anything, cuz when you're in a dark location your eyes will adjust to the darkness and make it more clear, which doesn't really happen when you see a dark movie
