Criticism of Israel and the genocidal Zionist project is not antisemitism. We will not be intimidated into silence. Free Palestine.

Instead of fighting Pauline Hanson, Labor is letting her ghost write their migration policy. It is craven, cowardly and just emboldens the far right.

We will not be party to making forest protection contingent on a mechanism that drives their destruction.

Labor prioritises corporate profits and toxic industries over the survival of endangered species. Labor MPs should stop posing for photos with cute creatures and start actually doing something to protect them and their homes.

And the Swift Parrot - the world’s fastest parrot – faces a similar fate if native forest logging is allowed to continue destroying its breeding habitat in Tasmania.

Labor promised ‘no new extinctions’ - what about the Maugean skate? The government supports industrial salmon farming in Macquarie Harbour that is destroying the only known habitat for this ancient species and driving it towards extinction.

National Threatened Species Day has been observed in Australia for 30 years. It marks the death of the last Tasmanian Tiger in 1936, driven to extinction by a government bounty. Yet in 2026 governments are still failing, and we are facing yet more totally avoidable extinctions and habitat loss.

Tim Curry’s role as Dr. Frank-N-Furter in The Rocky Horror Picture Show inspired generations of queer people to defy gender stereotypes, and to be themselves. Tim’s portrayal of this character and ongoing support for LGBTQIA+ community helped build inclusion, education and empowerment.

Dolly championed LGBTQIA+ love and acceptance throughout her global music career and personal advocacy. Her music became a staple in queer spaces and celebrations. Dolly proudly advocated for all people to be themselves and live without fear. And, she absolutely rocked!

Young Australians (25 and under) can submit a speech through the Raise Our Voice website until August 14th. Can't wait to make this year's speech. It's time to make positive change for young people in this country.

Stoked to again be taking part in the Raise Our Voice campaign this year! Raise Our Voice is an exciting opportunity to ensure young voices are heard loud and clear in our Parliament.

The Greens look forward to working with the environment movement and finally delivering overdue protection for Australia's native forests.

Ending native forest logging would protect the habitat of some of Australia's most endangered species, and is the quickest, easiest way to reduce national emissions.
1154
Nick McKim @nickmckim.bsky.social · 21/07/2026
For the first time in many years the environment movement has put down a marker, said enough is enough, and come together in defence of our forests. This is a reflection of the urgency of the climate and ecological crises we are living through.

The Greens welcome the launch of a national campaign to end native forest logging. This is a critical moment in defence of Australia's precious forests.

There is so much more to be done to support the lives of the LGBTIQA+ community in Australia. Now is not the time for Albanese to engage in performative support, pat himself on the back and act like everything is fine. LGBTIQA+ rights are human rights.
0103
Nick McKim @nickmckim.bsky.social · 02/07/2026
With LGBTIQA+ people under sustained attack, what is Labor's response? Reject every suggestion aimed at improving their rights. Clearly the Prime Minister sees the queer community as little more than props for his photo opportunities.
1142
Nick McKim @nickmckim.bsky.social · 02/07/2026
The Albanese Government accepted UN human rights recommendations for other marginalised groups, but rejected every recommendation relating to LGBTIQA+ people. At a time of renewed attacks on queer communities, Labor should not be so abjectly capitulating to the far right.
An image produced by ABCQueer with their logo at the top. Small black text on a white background reading:

The federal government has rejected all recommendations relating to the LGBTQIA+ community from the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) peer-review process.

The Universal Periodic Review (UPR) is a process in which the human rights record of each UN Member State is reviewed by other members every four and a half years.
More than 120 UN members made
recommendations for improving Australia's human rights protections.

Recommendations were made for a range of marginalised groups, such as children, women, people with disabilities, and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. However, LGBTQIA+ people were the only group for which the government did not accept any recommendations.

One Nation is the local arm of a globalised dark money network, promoting fascism and division across the world. The Greens are here to fight them every step of the way.

The Labor and Liberal Party are colluding with the mendicant forestry industry by destroying nature, emitting massive amounts of carbon and bleeding the Tasmanian and Australian tax payers through public subsidies. It is time to end native forest logging.

Nick McKim @nickmckim.bsky.social · 23/06/2026
Labor’s proposed cuts to the NDIS represent one of the most serious attacks on the rights, independence and dignity of disabled Australians in recent memory. The Greens will do everything we can to stop this bill.

Nick McKim @nickmckim.bsky.social · 22/06/2026
The federal government needs to stop passing the buck to the states and use its powers to end native forest logging around Australia. Our native forests are too important to keep sacrificing for an industry that is environmentally destructive and financially dependent on public money.

Nick McKim @nickmckim.bsky.social · 22/06/2026
It is absurd for the Tasmanian Freight Equalisation Scheme to be subsidising the movement of Tasmanian logs into Victorian mills, and this loophole must be closed.
1196
Nick McKim @nickmckim.bsky.social · 22/06/2026
Native forest logging only survives because governments keep it on life support with public subsidies. The industry destroys nature and emits massive amounts of carbon while leeching off taxpayers. It should be wound up immediately.

Nick McKim @nickmckim.bsky.social · 22/06/2026
Labor and the Liberals are colluding to plunder Tasmania’s native forests, ship logs across Bass Strait and saw them in Victorian mills, with public subsidies propping up every step of the way.

We already know what the solutions are - making polluters pay, protecting forests, and keeping coal and gas in the ground. The climate crisis isn't just coming. It's already here.
0204
Nick McKim @nickmckim.bsky.social · 17/06/2026
Climate breakdown is a story about inequality. A tiny number of corporations and billionaires get rich from pollution, and buy off politicians to keep it this way. The other 99% of us wear the costs.
1156
Nick McKim @nickmckim.bsky.social · 17/06/2026
While the climate crisis accelerates, Labor and the Liberals are approving new coal and gas projects and continuing to allow the destruction of native forests. At the exact moment we should be strengthening nature's defences, they're tearing them down.
1121
Nick McKim @nickmckim.bsky.social · 17/06/2026
For decades, coal, oil and gas corporations have known exactly what their pollution was doing. They made enormous profits while governments looked the other way. Now the rest of us are being left with the bill.
1122
Nick McKim @nickmckim.bsky.social · 17/06/2026
The people paying the price aren't the billionaires and fossil fuel corporations driving this crisis. It's farmers facing drought. Communities facing bushfires. Workers dealing with dangerous heat. Families paying higher insurance bills and food prices.
1112
Nick McKim @nickmckim.bsky.social · 17/06/2026
The Bureau of Meteorology has declared an El Niño, and Tasmania has just recorded its warmest May on record. This is what climate breakdown looks like. Not in some distant future. Right now.

Nick McKim @nickmckim.bsky.social · 05/06/2026
Governments should be working together to protect native forests, not conspiring to destroy them. Native forest logging needs to end, and it needs to end now.
0133
Nick McKim @nickmckim.bsky.social · 05/06/2026
We haven’t even seen some of the standards in draft form. Those we have seen are woefully inadequate. Labor and Liberal governments in Tasmania have spent years rubber-stamping forest destruction, and simply can’t be trusted to look after our precious native forests.
1104
Nick McKim @nickmckim.bsky.social · 05/06/2026
Yesterday we learned that Labor and the Liberals are working on a bilateral agreement to approve Tasmanian logging operations. This is being done before the relevant environmental standards have even been finalised. This is totally unacceptable.
23520
Nick McKim @nickmckim.bsky.social · 01/06/2026
The native forest logging industry should be ended once and for all, not propped up with public funds under the cover of "clean industry" funding.
084
Nick McKim @nickmckim.bsky.social · 01/06/2026
This will lock in ongoing destruction of nature and massive greenhouse gas emissions from industrial logging. It’s yet another lifeline for the native forest logging industry, which cannot survive without massive taxpayer subsidies.

Nick McKim @nickmckim.bsky.social · 01/06/2026
Can you believe this? Labor is handing over tens of millions of dollars from an emissions reduction fund to help a Tasmanian cement plant burn native forests.

Gina Rinehart’s wealth is growing by over $100,000 every single hour. No wonder she's giving money to One Nation and helping spread division and hatred against migrants. The ultra-wealthy are using their fortunes to protect a system that keeps making them richer.
24210
Nick McKim @nickmckim.bsky.social · 29/05/2026
Australian billionaires added another $53 billion to their fortunes last year. The average billionaire got $811,000 richer every single day. Meanwhile, people are skipping meals, putting off medical appointments and wondering how they'll pay the rent.

Nick McKim @nickmckim.bsky.social · 29/05/2026
The AFR Rich List shows a grotesque accumulation of wealth while millions of Australians struggle with the cost of living. There are now 178 billionaires in Australia, 17 more than a year ago. Australia doesn't have a wealth problem. Australia has a wealth distribution problem.

Labor needs to stop rubbing shoulders with the architects of a genocide. It’s time for serious and immediate sanctions on Israeli war criminals, and an end to the arms trade with Israel.
0244
Nick McKim @nickmckim.bsky.social · 25/05/2026
Labor should be ashamed for calling Israel an ally and a friend. Not only because of the foul treatment of Australian citizens, but for its apartheid state, and its brutal and illegal occupation of Palestine over many decades.
1194
Nick McKim @nickmckim.bsky.social · 25/05/2026
Israel was able to torture and abuse Australian citizens only because it has been given total impunity by our government and others like it. Labor's active support of Israel allows them to continue to commit, and escalate, war crimes against the Palestinian people without consequence.

Nick McKim @nickmckim.bsky.social · 25/05/2026
They were kidnapped, abused and tortured for a peaceful and legal attempt to deliver aid to the people of Gaza, who have been suffering a genocide, mass murder and engineered starvation at the hands of Israel.

It's a relief to see the brave Aussie activists who took part in the Global Sumud Flotilla are now home. What they have been through at the hands of the state of Israel is truly horrific.

Nick McKim @nickmckim.bsky.social · 22/05/2026
My reaction is this: Israel is a rogue state engaging in piracy on the high seas. The illegal capture, detention and abuse of activists is unacceptable, and demands the strongest possible response from Australia's Prime Minister and Foreign Minister.

Nick McKim @nickmckim.bsky.social · 22/05/2026
I was asked during a radio interview this morning what my reaction was to the treatment of Australian citizens by Israel following the capture and detention of 11 of our own who had joined the global sumud flotilla.

Nick McKim @nickmckim.bsky.social · 19/05/2026
Israel is a rogue state which is kidnapping Australian citizens on the high seas in complete disregard for international law. It’s nothing less than piracy and the Australian government needs to stop hand-wringing and take action. Call or email your MP now.
