I still live upstairs but I'm seriously considering selling and either building or buying a rancher. There's no such thing as a "forever home" if you have to go upstairs. (All inspired by terrible news from friends about a major amputation next week and their house is not set up for this)

I spent a lot of money two years ago to turn the dining room we never used into a proper main floor bedroom. It's lovely. Right after that mom found out she has arthritis in her spine and thank god the timing worked out.
