It does expect a specific dimension & number of frames tho so I'll have to redo my animation to conform to that. And I'll have to save a separate version of this so i can change it for future updates. Still pretty awesome!

Aha i think i figured it out. The DEDZII animation is hardcoded. When I save the theme as a different theme, change nothing about it, and then load the saved theme, there is no animated splash. But if i pick the original theme and replace the splash animation then it shows mine.

Been doing a deep dive into CC licenses for the first time in years and I think I finally found the solution for my work: dual-licensing (also called CC+). CC licenses are nonexclusive and I missed that critical bit of information for *years*. creativecommons.org/faq/#can-i-e...

Almost 3 months since I joined Frame Fatales. FF has been the community I never knew I needed. I've met so many friends (plus a lovely romantic partner). Finding such a supportive community filled with women, femmes, and nonbinary folx of various identities has been incredibly affirming for me. 💜💜💜

the speedrunning community was as toxic and as much of a boys club (if not more) as many others not too long ago, and the transition to it being a more queer-positive and inclusive event wasn't inevitable. GDQ's shift has been really meaningful and it's a lesson for what a lot of other spaces can be

Definitely check out the rest of the video if you're interested in hearing more sources of DDR sounds! I didn't even get into hardware synth presets and there's a bunch. Just do yourself a favor and skip 1:03:15 - 1:04:54. There's some samples that seem kinda gross / immature.
