I enjoyed the Belmont's Curse demo. It's much closer to something like Blasphemous or Hollow Knight than the classic metroidvanias, but it's still fun, and I'll probably get it at launch.

Aight, here's my 9 to the best that I can think of. This isn't my top favorites of all time, but the formative ones that shaped me, and made me think "I've never experienced anything like this before".

I played the Rhythm Heaven demo on a whim and WTF how did I neglect these games for so long?! WarioWare is one of my favorite Nintendo franchises and this is just a rhythm version of that.

Hyrule Castle Town is probably the most impressive part about OoT remake for me. It's like an actual vibrant town to explore now, and not a single fixed screen this time.

I've spent more time in Free Roam Mode in Mario Kart World than I have the racing, partially because of the OST (which seriously rivals Smash Ultimate). I've just been driving around and vibing.

000

Ｎｉｃｋａｐｅｄｉａ @nickapedia85.bsky.social · 25/04/2025

Oblivion and Expedition 33 having a near-equal amount of discussion and hype should put to rest the notion that one game can steal the thunder of another. Gaming is so ubiquitous with such broad appeal that the release of one rarely affects others. The only drawback is finding the time to play them.
