Trent Williams is now under contract until his age-40 season. Sat down at his locker in 2023 for probably my favourite ever interview and discussed his aim of playing into his 40s and his initial doubts about returning to his best after his health scare. #49ers www.thetimes.com/sport/nfl/ar...

The 49ers were ninth in EPA per play *before* this masterclass against the Colts. Imagine being a starting WR actively trying to leave Kyle Shanahan.

49ers select safety Marques Sigle with their second fifth-round pick. He ran a 4.37 40-yard dash, the fastest of all safeties.

CJ West an outstanding fourth-round pick for the 49ers. Here he is playing the nose against Notre Dame.

Nick Martin's tape is hilariously fun, but I want his locker, parking space and house next to that of Fred Warner. House may be taking it a little far.

Upton Stout, the 49ers’ 100th pick, was a 30 visit. He had four interceptions in 2022, eight pass breakups in 2023 and eight tackles for loss in 2024. In other words, he finds ways to impact the game.

Alfred Collins (95). The 49ers watched that Texas-Georgia defensive struggle last regular season and clearly loved it.

Some more Mykel Williams v Texas. Excellent tape against a top-10 tackle in Banks and evidence of his impact as an inside rusher.

Very much a 'I didn't write the headline' plug. Not that the headline is necessarily wrong. The 49ers have seen many members of their 2023 Super Bowl team leave in recent days, but some smart drafting could have them back in contention in a hurry. Piece ⬇️ deadspin.com/super-bowl-w...

Jalon Walker x Malaki Starks Walker wins around the edge with the long arm and his ability to flatten to the QB, excellent closing speed from Starks helps finish the job.

My first time sharing personal news on BlueSky, and unfortunately it’s not the good kind. Today was my last day at A to Z Sports. I’m gutted, but very much ready to find new opportunities.

49ers snap counts from Week 14. A clear demotion for Ji'Ayir Brown on Talanoa Hufanga's return. Much more balance between De'Vondre Campbell and Dee Winters, who played extremely well.

How the land lies injury wise for the #49ers after Thursday's practice. Lenoir seemingly on track to make his return. Niners might be light at safety in Hufanga isn't activated and Odum can't go.

No surprise with the top artist here, nor with Kendrick in second. A guilty pleasure with the No. 3 song.

49ers DL did a decent job of getting some pressure on Love without Bosa vs. a very good OL. Nice initial bull rush from Floyd, with Collins' persistence forcing Love from the pocket.

Floyd's other sack came from a similar look, though more of an effort play on his part while taking advantage of the attention attracted by Collins/Gross-Matos. Nice push by Okuayinonu 1v1 with the RT.

This is about as creative as the 49ers' defense gets these days. 3x1 with Warner walked down on the line and then dropping. Brown and Lenoir take away the underneath option. Maliek Collins does great work as the penetrator on the stunt, Floyd takes advantage with good lateral movement.

#49ers snap counts Anytime you can give 82 percent of the snaps to an RB averaging 2.9 yards per carry, you do it. Yes, I know the run game struggles weren't all CMC's fault. 49ers played a lot more base in this game, hence the bump for Dee Winters at LB.

#49ers injury report for Thursday. Brock Purdy officially listed as limited. Still no Bosa and Williams. Christian McCaffrey back in practice. Jacob Cowing seemingly trending towards missing out with a concussion.

Matt LaFleur said former #49ers DC Robert Saleh was responsible for this stalk-wheel from Christian Watson being in the #Packers gameplan last week. On Saleh's assistance for the 49ers game: "He's been helpful." Said with a wry smile.

Save for the well-designed middle screen on which the 49ers gave up a TD, their screen defense was also much improved. Standout plays from Sam Okuayinonu and Malik Mustapha. Okuayinonu has rapidly become a crucial player up front.

Felt Maliek Collins, who was also unsurprisingly their best interior pass rusher, Evan Anderson (@acosta32jp.bsky.social) and Kalia Davis really stood out as run defenders. Anderson doesn't give a lot of ground at all. Looking increasingly like the D.J. Jones successor the 49ers have long needed.

How the NFC playoff picture looks after the Eagles’ TNF win. Division still the easiest path for the 49ers, though they could soon reel in Washington. A win over Seattle and a Packers loss to the Bears (yeah I know) and the 49ers would be in a wild card spot.

A third FG miss came a few plays after this, hence why Deebo Samuel was mad. More importantly the #49ers, did the short motion out of the backfield with one of CMC/Deebo and the other essentially at FB a few times. It's hell for second-level players, and Seattle is starting a rookie LB in Week 11.

Brandon Aiyuk is the most open receiver in the NFL, and the 49ers need to figure out ways to take advantage of that more often. atozsports.com/san-francisc...
