The relentless right wing focus on migration is now causing significant economic problems. The UK's Labour govt will now have to find an additional £4bn - possibly £6.5bn - in the budget due to falling migration. Fewer migrants means we have less not more. 1/5

Burnham will likely approve North Sea drilling in the next week or so, and part of the justification will be “jobs”. So it’s worth saying out loud - it’s not about jobs. Even the world’s largest producer in lost oil and gas jobs, and now has fewer than in 2010

Heavy snowfall and flash flooding killed 13 ppl and shut down a copper mine that produces 2.5% of Chile's copper. Snow also impacted ops at the Codelco copper mine. Chile produces 25% of the world's copper, and the world is now in a structural shortage of the material 1/2
