To the world: We are fighting back. Our movement has been silenced by the media here—but we are not backing down. This is what our streets looked like across multiple cities. Tomorrow, there will be more of us! Raise a glass to freedom. —With love, Your American allies.

Ahhhhh! I got two of my favorite ocean images, I'm so excited. I have spots on the wall all picked out. Happy winter holiday to meeeee!

As someone who is currently writing what feels like the most shit draft ever, can I just say that your feed has felt really reassuring and encouraging. These random blurbs of 'keep going' have helped me keep writing this week. Thanks for that!

I just picked up the illustration of Dorian Storm playing his lute that I've been eyeing for at least a year and I'm so happy to add it to my collection. I hope the sale goes amazingly!

Oh I'm so sorry. Wow this is horrible <3 it's a beautiful piece, these people are the worst!

Oh no it's all good! I love these brushes so much, I've been playing with them all day. Watercolor brushes are so hit or miss for me usually. I can tell I'll be using them. The textures and papers are so good too!

The best lil treat reward for venturing out into the world, imo.

I think so too! And we really need that right now more than ever. 🥰

Oh I've been eyeing these for weeks, I got so excited I forgot to use the code *LOL* but that's ok, super excited to play with these brushes! Your textures are 🔥

I'm trying not to engage on this topic on this app, BUT... if, say, the outgoing administration were taking steps to safeguard democracy, would you want them giving a heads up by saying so out loud or would you want them to quietly just do the work so it's done? the latter seems better to me.

Oh thank you for posting this about the alt text setting, sometimes I forget. Found it and turned it on, what a great feature!

So, as someone who got the "I collect cool rocks" add-on to my brand of autism (which I have to say, makes moving really interesting because literal boxes of rocks), may I just say that that is a really cool rock and I can see why you like it. Quality geology there!

It is definitely time to use the things we have been saving "for best."

Oh I really love this! Love the play of the saturated/desaturated colors and the soft background detail of that group of people getting to safety as he's buying them time.

Completely agree. No one is owed our time or mental real estate. Particularly on social media.

I'm loving seeing everyone's stuff. I'm so all over the place but this one procreate piece is fairly recent. It felt "breakthrough-ish." So that felt good. It felt like a solid step towards the direction I really want to go rather than "endless class projects", if that makes any sense at all.

I was feeling happy this morning when I was tidying up and realized that I have like, three of your north coast photos hanging in my bedroom and they make me happy every time I look at them.

This is very cozy and I would like to drink tea here and pet that cat.

000

That Nice PDX Crow Fairy @nicepdxcrowfairy.bsky.social · 20/11/2024

And I really think that the world could use more normalizing of just doing things we love, imperfectly and for our own joy and contentment.

Sometimes it feels scary to share, since I don't make "big" art or "fine" art or necessarily even particularly technically proficient art. I just make my little amateur colorful folky drawings on my ipad or with my watercolors and it's cozy and I like doing it. Also, the root of amateur is "love".

A flaming sacred heart decorated with leaves and flowers, with an eye at the center, on a dark background, surrounded by nazar. Surrounded by a line of words "we must hold on to hope, hold on to our friends and light each other's way when the road goes dark. We hold on for the kids. We hold on for each other."

I would 100% read a book about a sweary dead Viking who rescues lost souls.

020

That Nice PDX Crow Fairy @nicepdxcrowfairy.bsky.social · 19/11/2024

I think so! I absolutely think about and imagine the scenes before I write them and sometimes do a little maladaptive daydreaming too.

The tension between those two points is real :-/

I think we're allowed to cultivate spaces where we can rest, in whatever sense it feels like resting.

010

That Nice PDX Crow Fairy @nicepdxcrowfairy.bsky.social · 17/11/2024

ahhh f*ck it. I'm appropriately politically engaged (and enraged) on every other platform I inhabit. I'm just going to keep this one cozy and focused on art and writing and I'll just eat my lil snacks over here and be happy and it will be nice. Potatoes and chill. And that's okay.

An actual person. I make cozy art and write queer cozy fantasy. Cats and yarn and crows and watercolors and PNW chaos gardening are things. Also, substack rainwood.substack.com We'll see where this goes!
