Exactly this, who decides what is hate speech? Folks seem to think that free speech guarantees one a platform, a book deal etc. It simply means that one can’t be jailed or fined for what they say or write.

Hate speech should not be free from social consequences, including shaming and shunning. Hate speech should be free from government censorship. It would be incredibly dangerous to give Trump and his cronies the power to impose government censorship under the pretext of preventing hate speech.
