Nic Benbow @nicbenbow.bsky.social · 01/02/2026Labelling PE CPET gains a “growth mirage” is rhetoric, not physiology. Growth doesn’t selectively improve workload, symptoms, and efficiency at matched HR. Dismissing consistent functional gains is ideology, not science #pectusexcavatum 000
Nic Benbow @nicbenbow.bsky.social · 01/02/2026Gold-standard PE outcome study: prospective, growth-matched controls; DXA-indexed VO₂; submaximal CPET; cardiac MRI (rest + exercise); symptom & activity data; ≥2-yr follow-up. Anatomy → physiology → function. Anything less stays debatable. #pectusexcavatum 000
Nic Benbow @nicbenbow.bsky.social · 01/02/2026Want to convince PE sceptics? Show ↑ VO₂max indexed to lean mass, ↑ anaerobic threshold, better VO₂–work slope, ↓ VE/VCO₂—and link them to imaging evidence of ↑ stroke volume. O₂-pulse alone won’t cut it. Close the loop. #pectusexcavatum 000
Nic Benbow @nicbenbow.bsky.social · 01/02/2026O₂-pulse is an imperfect surrogate—but calling post-op CPET gains in pectus excavatum a “growth mirage” overreaches. Flat indexed VO₂ ≠ no physiology. Nic Benbow @nicbenbow.bsky.social · 12/08/2025Interesting, but he still needs better representation and the PFA could not be any worse than his current agent, and might spell out the risks to him. 000
Nic Benbow @nicbenbow.bsky.social · 12/08/2025The PFA might represent him better than his agent has and point out the realities of his contract, thus giving him better advice. I'm not saying they won't respect the wishes of the player, only that they might point out some realities. 100

Nic Benbow @nicbenbow.bsky.social · 06/08/2025Mika Biereth is someone we could look at: extremely aggressive at pressing could be a very interesting fit in an Eddie Howe side. Fits more of a slower Chris Wood profile but that worked well with Elanga. A decent option off bench. Probably too tough to sign though #nufc 000
Nic Benbow @nicbenbow.bsky.social · 04/08/2025If it's true that Sekso has decided he wants both clubs, that sends alarm bells. He clearly wants a bidding war, and seems a bit disrespectful to all parties. I'm not sure he is worth the trouble. Newcastle are doing him a favour here, to not give one club a definitive answer is a red flag. 300
Nic Benbow @nicbenbow.bsky.social · 03/08/2025I always rated Ander Herrera, but that was 10 years ago. They have more success with their academy than bringing in players Sesko's age. 100
