This year in running started out super strong, with my first marathon, trail run, and ultra all surpassing my targets. Injury derailed the last few months so I didn’t quite hit my goal for the year, but recovery is going strong, and I’m looking forward to my first major in just two months: Tokyo!

11 weeks ago I picked up a bone stress injury post-ultramarathon. Taking multiple weeks off my feel-good hobby, and then having to return much slower than my fitness level wanted, was quite demoralizing. But today, I've built back up to a double-digit mileage run for the first time, pain-free.
