Idk @nh45.bsky.social · 14/10/2026The set of things we know to be conscious contains one object. Anymore requires assumptions you can not justify. There are no priors about this that are justified. You can't do Bayesian statistics. 000
Idk @nh45.bsky.social · 14/10/2026Not really, because assuming that any other human besides myself is conscious is already a dubious inference. 110
Idk @nh45.bsky.social · 15/09/2026AI do not have emotions to care about things like "being enslaved." 000
Idk @nh45.bsky.social · 09/09/2026This line of thought has the obvious consequence that the only people in AI safety would be the people not taking it seriously. His job is the head of alignment science he should be taking the risk of AI seriously. 030
Idk @nh45.bsky.social · 08/09/2026okay but I live grew up there and have never heard a data center make a noise so it doesn't really sound like an issue that is generalizable 101
Idk @nh45.bsky.social · 19/03/2026It's so much worse in female social circles too. Women are so afraid to be seen as bragging. I will always be pro-girlboss for this reason. Realistically, the only way to achieve real power in this country is through capital so idc about the "reinforcing capitalism" critique. 010
Idk @nh45.bsky.social · 08/03/2026Maybe gutting our intelligence agencies and replacing them with loyalists was a bad idea. 000
Idk @nh45.bsky.social · 14/02/2026Whether ai is "designed to mimic" humans is not really relevant. Because the purpose of ai is completely irrelevant when trying to determine if ai is conscious or not. Humans are also copies of their parents that doesn't mean they aren't real. 000
Idk @nh45.bsky.social · 13/02/2026I can just attach a timestamp to the images. I feel like under this definition Waymo is conscious but llms are not. Maybe as those chore robots get better they will be. Maybe I could buy that. If I go into sensory deprivation chamber, take a bunch of ssris, I wouldn't be conscious. Id be asleep 100
Idk @nh45.bsky.social · 13/02/2026Computers exist within physical space. They receive inputs as electrical signals similar to our brains receiving electrical inputs. If i put an llm in a boston dynamics robot would that be conscious? I can feed the llm images of its surroundings and it can output instructions on where to go. 300
Idk @nh45.bsky.social · 13/02/2026So consciousness is an emergent property of complexity, but somehow llms are not complex enough? Seems like an arbitrary distinction. 100
Idk @nh45.bsky.social · 13/02/2026There are a finite number of atoms in your brain. It's not impossible. 000
Idk @nh45.bsky.social · 13/02/2026If we are able to fully simulate a brain, and understand it's process, does that mean people can no longer have experiences as well? 200
Idk @nh45.bsky.social · 13/02/2026You can have a baby and it's designed to be a clone of it's parents; that means it has no real experiences. 000
Idk @nh45.bsky.social · 13/02/2026I am aware, they don't share no similarites. Neural networks are more similar to the brain than previous optimization algorithms because you don't tell neural networks how to think. There's nothing unique in the human brain you can point to that makes it have experiences either way. 110
Idk @nh45.bsky.social · 11/02/2026Saying only meat computers have souls seems like a very arbitrary distinction. 000
Idk @nh45.bsky.social · 11/02/2026It doesn't have the same experiences we do. I am saying that chatGPT doesn't necessarily have no experiences. The structure of a neural network is similar to the structure of a brain. Both function with electrical signals. I don't know what would make it less conscious than a dog or a caterpillar. 210
Idk @nh45.bsky.social · 11/02/2026That's true for people to though. I can't be sure that you experience emotions the same way I do. Obviously chatgpt does not have the same senses we do. It's not identical to us but that doesn't really mean it has no "real" experiences. How can I be sure this button is not painful lmao: 000
Idk @nh45.bsky.social · 11/02/2026There is no clear mechanism that causes you, I, animals, or chatGPT have experiences. I know I do, and I assume you do via inference. I don't think it's as crazy as you are implying to assume chatGPT does via inference again. 100
Idk @nh45.bsky.social · 01/01/2026I hope the next season is 20 episodes and has 4 hours of flashbacks of Carol and Helen. 000
Idk @nh45.bsky.social · 01/01/2026Fuck it. They should have made it longer. The pacing was too rushed. Send tweet. 100
Idk @nh45.bsky.social · 19/11/2024I feel like I do twitter wrong. I just follow people whos tweets I find funny/interesting. I don't want a bunch of random people flooding my TL, why would I want that? 010
Idk @nh45.bsky.social · 16/11/2024This is kind of me sometimes. Got to keep up the delusion a bit because I get a lot of work done on the basis that it would hurt my pride if I wasn't able to. "I can do anything this will be easy" -> "oh fuck; am I stupid? Am I the dumbest person ever?" -> "yay I did it im the best" 110
