My heart is with you. Our last Westie, a little rescue boy named Benny, passed away in his sleep August 24th, and I still can't bear to walk through the house without him. He was the 6th of our Westie family, and I'm not sure I can handle going through this loss again.

Oh Ozzy - I wish we'd had 16 years with our sweet Benny! He was rescued when he was 8, and we were overjoyed to welcome him to our hearts and home. He had been tossed out into the backyard to fend for himself after his original owner died; this is what he looked like when rescued:

My Westie, Annabel (RB 2004) loved her pool; she was the only one out of 6 (so far) Westies who've lived with us who would splash voluntarily.

My boy Benny (turning 16 in September) used to do this, but arthritis has gradually turned his happy dance into a happy face instead. I'm just glad he's still with us!

Wow. Never in my wildest dreams did I see myself agreeing with Jonah Goldberg:

Goldberg wrote that as a prelude to reposting a post by Aaron Rupar about a statement from Markwayne Mullin, which read "We are currently drawing up plans to say, listen, in these sanctuary cities where the local radical left Democrats aren't allowing us to do our job and enforce federal laws, then we shouldn't be processing international flights into their cities." There is a video of Mullin making that statement on Fox News.

I wish I could edit my post, but Monday 4/6 we lost my Rosie. She was diagnosed with cancer which was really affecting her quality of life, and I couldn't bear for her to deteriorate any more. My sweet girl...

The small tiger tabby is Miller (RB 2012); the large black cat is Louie (RB 2011). Of the six cats we've been lucky to live with, only 2 were female. These 2 boys were the last we adopted. Maybe again one day... #caturday
