honestly my bare minimum wish is for people to group up more often, say hi, thank you and goodbye, and just generally you know, do the bare minimum social interaction in a social game.

now retail has cultivated that mentality over the years, so it's no wonder people act like that. you don't need to group up except for m+ or raids, and m+ is so demanding that you need to be demanding yourself. but to bring this to a wc run at level 20 is insane, and yet it happens.

it's not just the roach infestation but so many people take no interest in playing with others in what's supposed to be an mmo. it's such a stark contrast with anniversay that it gives me whiplash. the classic andys are annoying, but the retail mentality is very exhausting.

it was just as i remembered as a kid, a slow paced journey where everyone is having fun instead of trying to race to the end and getting their gear number up as much and as fast as possible. but i can see forever is full of people from retail and the mentality shows so damn clearly.

when i played tbc anniversary i had an absolute blast. everyone was so friendly, people would actually chat with you, they'd go find you at the dungeon entrance if you died, they were patient, they shared items, they crafted things for you, you were 3 priests in the same group nobody cared

i do sound like an old man yelling at a cloud when i say my favorite xpacs were tbc/wrath, but my favorite aspect of the game was always the community. people didn't look at your gear as much, you were allowed to learn and fail without them yelling about you ruining their key for ALMOST dying once

i had high hopes for forever especially the community but it fades a little everyday. retail is just not fun for me anymore, it's a race to endgame and then it's just spamming m+ or collecting things mostly. people have become very elitist over time and classes have no synergy to one another at all

while i would love a game that caters to every single one of my whims... i don't want that. i want to see what people do with their ideas, i want to enjoy their stories, their art. if i want to customize a game there's almost always a mod, and if not, i'll love the game for what it is!
