( It ends in her pulling him up with his legs still limp. The second she lets go, back to the ground. ) Hoo boy, you weren't kidding.

ㅤWINONAㅤ @nextofvoxola.bsky.social · 02/04/2025

Alright. Here, let me help. ( She stands, holding a hand out. )

000

ㅤWINONAㅤ @nextofvoxola.bsky.social · 02/04/2025

Nah, you're good. Anyone would be freakin' out. Deep breaths.

000

ㅤWINONAㅤ @nextofvoxola.bsky.social · 02/04/2025

Ah, sorry. Just tryin'a figure out what the issue is.

000

ㅤWINONAㅤ @nextofvoxola.bsky.social · 02/04/2025

Your neck? ( She takes that as an excuse to start manhandling him, looking at his neck to make sure it's alright. )

000

ㅤWINONAㅤ @nextofvoxola.bsky.social · 02/04/2025

( She watches as he clearly moves his right arm. ) ..seems like everything's alright? You sure you didn't bang your head on the fall, and that's why?

000

ㅤWINONAㅤ @nextofvoxola.bsky.social · 02/04/2025

Okay, deep breaths, bud. In, out. ( With a staggering strength, she drags him back to the trunk of the tree, sitting him up. ) Does anything hurt?

000

ㅤWINONAㅤ @nextofvoxola.bsky.social · 02/04/2025

What? Hold on, you're gonna need to be a bit more specific. What part?

000

ㅤWINONAㅤ @nextofvoxola.bsky.social · 02/04/2025

( It's a shockingly short amount of time between him calling for help, and it actually arriving. ) ( The light of her torch makes her obvious before her own form does, quickly rushing to his fallen body before he can even speak. ) Whoa, whoa, what happened? ( Right to business. )

ㅤWINONAㅤ @nextofvoxola.bsky.social · 02/04/2025

000

ㅤWINONAㅤ @nextofvoxola.bsky.social · 02/04/2025

oh that poor bot got got by the door too

100

ㅤWINONAㅤ @nextofvoxola.bsky.social · 01/04/2025

( She pants as her knees give way, sending her to the wet grass of mid-spring. She's never been so thankful for it, or for the quickly setting sun. ) ( Wait, setting? She quickly hobbles together a torch as she leaves the area, doing everything she can to put the door out of her mind. )

011

ㅤWINONAㅤ @nextofvoxola.bsky.social · 01/04/2025

( It stands out so much. It... it had to be something. Her eyes light up, a small smirk reappearing on her face. ) Hey, thanks! ( That's the last thing she says before plunging her spear into the mirror. Painting? Whatever it was. )

000

ㅤWINONAㅤ @nextofvoxola.bsky.social · 01/04/2025

( It's almost... underwhelming. Those long fingers, that unnatural way of moving, the way the environment changes for it— she's seen it all, just not in one place before. ) ( Her head is throbbing. But it's hurt worse for less. Her grip on the spear gets tighter. )

100

ㅤWINONAㅤ @nextofvoxola.bsky.social · 01/04/2025

( She sees him. Out of the corner of his eye, she sees him, and she hesitates none in pulling a spear out. ) Nah, I tried to walk away. Damn thing followed me, then you took the door.

000

ㅤWINONAㅤ @nextofvoxola.bsky.social · 01/04/2025

I didn't toss it, I dropped it. Big difference. ( She steps down, putting her backpack back on. ) Besides, I could call you "very rude" right back for this whole kidnappin' thing.

000

ㅤWINONAㅤ @nextofvoxola.bsky.social · 01/04/2025

( She holds the lamp out, away from her backpack, and drops it onto the ground. )

000

ㅤWINONAㅤ @nextofvoxola.bsky.social · 01/04/2025

( With a roll of her eyes, she picks the bag up, and drops it under the next light fixtures. Standing on it, she removes the lamp, getting to work. )

000

ㅤWINONAㅤ @nextofvoxola.bsky.social · 01/04/2025

( She whips around. He's not there. ) It was a /euphemism!/ Means I'm gonna dent your ugly mug with my own tools!

000

ㅤWINONAㅤ @nextofvoxola.bsky.social · 01/04/2025

It wasn't. Put it back, or I swear, I'm fixin' YOU! ( She gestures her wrench... in the wrong direction. )

000

ㅤWINONAㅤ @nextofvoxola.bsky.social · 01/04/2025

Fixin' this damn light. Gives me something to do other than walkin'.

000

ㅤWINONAㅤ @nextofvoxola.bsky.social · 01/04/2025

Beat it. This place don't respect me, I don't respect it. ( But, she ends up giving up on the paintings. They're fast on, even for her strength. Instead, she shuffles around with her stuff, dropping her backpack under one of the light fixtures. )

000

ㅤWINONAㅤ @nextofvoxola.bsky.social · 01/04/2025

( With a roll of her eyes, she starts trying to take the paintings off the walls. )

000

ㅤWINONAㅤ @nextofvoxola.bsky.social · 01/04/2025

( She did everything she could not to get lost. But that was the only fate— there was no path in the first place. ) ( Eventually, she has to sit down. It's been, how long..? What was a passing thought at first quickly takes front stage— how long HAS it been? )

100

ㅤWINONAㅤ @nextofvoxola.bsky.social · 01/04/2025

( The temperature leads her to grab onto her opposite sleeves, keeping the hammer under her arm. She has to walk with her eyes squinted to not fall into the spirals, bumping into walls every now and then. ) ( But she knows what it means to be enthralled. It means exactly what the word comes from. )

000

ㅤWINONAㅤ @nextofvoxola.bsky.social · 01/04/2025

( Deep breaths, Winona. Her grip tightens on her hammer, turning around. ) ( She begins to move down the hallway, trying not to get lost in the spirals. )

010

ㅤWINONAㅤ @nextofvoxola.bsky.social · 01/04/2025

( Swirling rose patterns cover the wallpaper, the vines spiraling and tangling in on each other. Instantly taken over by her nerves, she reaches back for the door— but there's no knob. ) CHARLIE, YOU—! ( She strikes the door with her hammer. )

000

ㅤWINONAㅤ @nextofvoxola.bsky.social · 01/04/2025

( She looks down the hallway again, eyes narrowed. ) ..only one way to find out. ( Gripping her hammer, she enters the hallway. )

000

ㅤWINONAㅤ @nextofvoxola.bsky.social · 01/04/2025

..right, April Fools. Very funny, Charlie? Where's this thing lead?

000

ㅤWINONAㅤ @nextofvoxola.bsky.social · 01/04/2025

( On instinct, she strikes the frame with her hammer. )

000

ㅤWINONAㅤ @nextofvoxola.bsky.social · 01/04/2025

What in the..? ( She looks around, slowly backing away from the door. )

000

ㅤWINONAㅤ @nextofvoxola.bsky.social · 01/04/2025

( Her confused sneer drops in an instant, replaced with... God, what was she supposed to feel at that? Unsettled? Dreadful? ) ( She loops around again, trying to get a look at the outside of this "hallway." )

000

ㅤWINONAㅤ @nextofvoxola.bsky.social · 01/04/2025

( A door? All the way out here? Propped onto... nothing? The mechanic circles it— there's nothing on the other side. It just looks like a door, leading nowhere, going nowhere. How useless. ) ( Equipping a hammer, she first opens the door, to check the hinges. )

000

ㅤWINONAㅤ @nextofvoxola.bsky.social · 01/04/2025

April Fools, huh... no idea what to do with it.
