October 1 is National Black Dog Day.

The Resemblance Between Your Life and a Dog I never intended to have this life, believe me — It just happened. You know how dogs turn up At a farm, and they wag but can't explain.
It's good if you can accept your life — you'll notice Your face has become deranged trying to adjust To it. Your face thought your life would look
Like your bedroom mirror when you were ten.
That was a clear river touched by mountain wind.
Even your parents can't believe how much you've changed.
Sparrows in winter, if you've ever held one, all feather:
Burst out of your hand with a fiery glee.
You see them later in hedges. Teachers praise you, But you can't quite get back to the winter sparrow.
Your life is a dog. He's been hungry for miles, Doesn't particularly like you, but gives up, and comes in.

TIME100 Next 2026: The World's Most Influential Rising Stars Molly Gordon by Connor Storrie time.com/collection/t...

SEP 30, 2026
Molly Gordon
by Connor Storrie
Part of what makes Molly Gordon such a great actor and filmmaker is her genuine interest in other people. It's one thing to be able to connect with someone based on mutual interests or experiences, but Molly goes beyond that. She wants to learn about your life, your thoughts, your creative processes.
She's a deeply curious person. Molly has a real tenacity about her, too-which was clear when we worked together on her upcoming film Peaked-but she also has an innate ability to stay playful and open.

Her comedy reminds me of the kinds of movies we grew up watching: stories centered around irreverent characters who you can't help but root for. She brings such clear and fresh perspectives to this industry that I honestly think Molly is some kind of comedy wizard. I'm so excited to keep watching her flourish.
Storrie is an Emmy-nominated actor.

Ashley posting this repost to her story: Probability of dying in a plane crash: 1 in ll million.
Probability of dying from a shark attack: 1 in 3.7 million.
Probability that a woman will experience violence from a man.

Yet no one considers people paranoid if they're afraid of flying or sharks.
But if a woman is dubious of men she is immediately told that she is exaggerating and inciting hatred toward them because "not all men are like that."
